Data centres aren't small machines. A single hyperscale data center can use millions of gallons of water a day for cooling — in some cases more than a town's daily supply. We're pulling from aquifers and rivers to keep servers cool while we figure out what MEANINGFUL question we're even asking.

People did not understand the answer, because they did not know how to formulate the promt correctly. Computers are not the bottle neck. People are. Bigger data centres won't change that

The power draw from a data centre isn't trivial. — Some campuses now request as much electricity as a mid-size city. All this so a model can occasionally hallucinate a citation or write a mediocre cover letter. The ratio of resource cost to actual clarity gained is... not great.
