Garrett Mace @macegr.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Even more straightforward than that: the images are framed exactly the same, from an identical perspective. Not really possible unless this is from a doorbell camera or something. 070

Garrett Mace @macegr.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Various technological and political developments of the past few years have drastically reduced the chance any given statement contains a valuable, original thought. People are subconsciously ignoring each other because the average value of communication is trending to nil. 020
Garrett Mace @macegr.bsky.social · 20/09/2026More police have been caught and charged with stalking women via Flock cameras than there are trans youth competing in sports. But politicians, billionaire authors, and other bigots feel safer denouncing a thin blue line only if there's pink and white with it. 050

Garrett Mace @macegr.bsky.social · 13/09/2026When watching these streams, I wondered what it would be like if they brought along a non-scientist to experience the exploration in realtime. Sort of providing a color commentary, but also a reinvigorating sense of discovery of the things the scientists consider done and dusted. 000
Garrett Mace @macegr.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I cannot overstate how peaceful it is to watch a live-streaming exploration feed of an undersea rover. Garrett Mace @macegr.bsky.social · 11/08/2026The only two options for these officers: 1. They're racking up massive overtime by working 16-hour days, spending much of their time on duty exhausted and unable to deliver high quality law enforcement. 2. They're billing massive overtime but not actually working, preventing another officer hire. 110

Garrett Mace @macegr.bsky.social · 10/08/2026Based on your findings....all USB cables are available cheaply as durable overmolded assemblies. But why specifically mini-USB? Likely because it's rarely found on modern equipment anymore and therefore the risk of someone trying to actually use it as a USB port is low. 050

Garrett Mace @macegr.bsky.social · 03/08/2026I really enjoyed the wide shots in Odyssey on 70mm. The close-up shots aren’t good at all on such a large screen, the human eye is not meant to dart around an entire field of vision including 10 foot wide chins and noses.
