Difficult to imagine that there isnt a Russian operative posting videos on SM of kids doing stupid things just so UK kids will copy them: burning moorland, dangerous driving, eating chemicals, voting for fascists. Why send agents when people are stupid enough to damage resources and infrastructure.

Vol 1 of Abalone was 43k words. I was pleased with it, but wanted more for vol 2. 80k+ words so far. But I am struggling with the editing. Restarts, losing track, getting nowhere. Started treating it as two 40k vols, editing improving, more control and momentum. Vol 2 may come as 2 & 3 #booksky

The upside of finishing @ipiercebrown.bsky.social's Light Bringer & waiting on Red God is I've been inspired to return to editing vol 2 of Abalone. Delayed for edits to Blade & Bullet #ttrpg rules, I'm enjoying getting back to Rhyrid and a bit of Tull. But also reading some @jacobsannox.bsky.social

Just finished "Lightbringer" by Pierce Brown, what I thought was the last volume of the awesome Red Rising. Oh no, there's a 7th volume.... and it's not ready yet! Arghhh! #booksky #redrising For those who havent read it yet, & you love high-octane #sciencefiction #scifi I can heartily recommend it

Toughest job developing an RPG? I'd say equipment pricing. Rules can be play-tested with short scenarios & scenes, but balancing the cost of weapons & armour is "value in game" vs "what would it really cost". Tricky. I have a hangun at around a months wages for a civilian. Power Armour? #ttrpg #rpg

Been working on making Blade & Bullet on Roll20 a bit more user friendly. I'm hoping it'll help the neuro-d members. 1. Clear id of whats happening. 2. Presenting the Target Score needed from the dice roll with the least number of dice. 3. Box around the dice 4. Dice laid out in numerical order.

Gone from thinking the last version of Blade & Bullet was fairly slick to realising any major combat was taking 2 or 3 sessions. Yuk! Two weeks of editing later (cos the whole skill system needed tweaking because of combat, as well as combat), and we're ready for a play test this week. #ttrpg #rpg

Roll20 is quite adaptable. Managed to add Ability reminders for each character on the pop up menus, making it easier than referring to the character sheet mind combat. Reasonable sized rules update for Blade & Bullet, but combat should be a lot quicker now, with less paperwork. #ttrpg #rpg

Phil @ Mace Games @mace-games.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

Examining why combat's taking so long in Blade & Bullet. It's partly because of it's VTT rather than in RL: 1. No physical character sheet - players constantly having to look up their stats and equipment (not easy if a player is using a mobile device) :/ #ttrpg #rpg

Phil @ Mace Games @mace-games.bsky.social · 28/03/2026

Tricky decision or not? Play-testing has shown that one of my beloved ideas doesn't work so well in practise. Slows combat down, mostly because players aren't exactly au fais with their character sheets. This aint a schoolroom, so time to change the rules a little bit I think. #ttrpg #rpg
