Historically, hockey players have done a lot for their communities through appearances and charities. If a hockey player that supports a pedophile rapist president attends a children’s cancer charity event should the parents be grateful? No. They lose the right to be seen as humanitarian, as caring.

Look, Canada lost a gold medal hockey game. The sad part is not the loss. Sometimes teams lose. The sad part is that it allowed the USA team to show their true colours and, pettiness aside, side with pedophile rapists. The reputation of every player on that team is now tainted. Hockey is tainted.

The difference between Canada vs USA hockey: Here in Vancouver the game will be on at 5:10 am, so the streets will be empty and quiet. Even if it was rush hour on a Friday, it would still be quiet because the whole country would be watching the game. Canada is hockey and hockey is Canada.

The difference in this game was individual skill in puck handling. Far too many times the Canadians had the puck hop over a stick at either blue line or couldn’t receive a pass. The Americans had better stick control.
