The most annoying Android feature that's been forced upon me is the thing that automatically turns down volume randomly if you've been listening through Bluetooth for too long. You don't know how loud my Bluetooth device actually is! Stop! I'm not damaging my ears!

I have a 15 year old scanner. On Windows, it has always been a hassle to use. Need proprietary software, won't get recognized, etc. On Linux, I plug in the scanner, open an application called "Document Scanner" and it immediately scans with no issues.

I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me

I think they should just put fake grills on the front of EVs. Cars without grills look silly.

"Reacher, why are you filling that bottle with piss?" "My piss is normally 1.005x more dense than water. Today, I drank two bottles of Gatorade and ate a Denny's Grand Slam. My piss today is 1.02x more dense than water, which will make it hurt worse when it hits you on the forehead." *throw*

They should make JRPGs that operate as a series of short point and click adventures with battles in-between like they did in the PS1 generation.

I'm playing Chrono Cross for the first time since I was 9 and this game kinda rips

Walked wrong for one second and now it feels like my knee is about to fall off. Uh oh.

New Mountain Goats record might be my favorite since Sunset Tree (just a special record to me, not shading the albums since then)

Genuinely think I learned to drive with Gran Turismo 2, just took another decade for me to be old enough to get a license.

macabrett @macabrett.com · 08/09/2026

People get weird about Ocarina, huh.

macabrett @macabrett.com · 06/09/2026

The new version of The Grand Tour is great, because now I can finally watch "car mythbusters" without learning a new slur in the process

Christ, Kimi, what a drive!

It'd be pretty cool to see Pierre Gasly win today. Insane that he's on pole.

There's a certain balance of "I need to implement mechanics to allow me to have ideas about what levels I want to make" mixed with "I need levels to know which mechanics I should focus on" that I'm struggling to hit in Cosmic Jam. Been working on some menu stuff while I ponder it.

There should have been a Dead Kennedys biopic in the early 2000s with French Stewart playing Jello Biafra. Not because I want a Dead Kennedys biopic, but because I think French Stewart would have played a good Jello Biafra.

I don't really like doctor's appointments (just a lot of waiting to do something for like 2 minutes) so of course I've been cursed with the right number of diseases that I always have another doctor's appointment on the horizon.

Music pirates are so funny, man. Yeah, upload 2gb of Crass flacs. You know, Crass, the music that kinda sounds like shit on purpose (positive). Make sure it's the highest quality! Very important!

Finally implemented a smart build system for Macabre2D. I used to just force rebuild every asset, which was fine until I ended up with enough shaders to cause shader compilation to take some actual time. Now I only rebuild assets that have changes. I'm sure there will be bugs.

Google is redesigning icons again and somehow they're getting way worse. The new Clock and Recording icons on Android are abominations.

Recording music, working on Cosmic Jam, writing fiction... It's good to juggle a bunch of projects at once, right? Only way my brain works. It makes me happy, who cares if I never finish anything.

Log on. Everyone is discoursing about discourse. Nobody explains the context or links to the article that the discourse is about. I think you all are a part of the problem you're discoursing about (and now I am too, but I have an excuse: I don't know what the hell we're talking about)

The demo got me genuinely excited for Mortal Shell 2. It's not as punishing as a lot of soulslikes, but I kinda like that. It moves fast. Cool style. I'm hooked by the story premise.

I feel like I need someone to tell me that I can stop worrying about the diarrhea lettuce, but no one has yet told me I can stop worrying about the diarrhea lettuce

macabrett @macabrett.com · 15/08/2026

I started playing Duskfade. It's very obvious they were heavily inspired by Kingdom Hearts, but they accidentally landed on something I'm a bit more into: Ratchen and Clank. Fun game so far.

had a random thought about trains needing to do a pit stop every once and a while. just think, the ny subway reaching a stop and then suddenly a bunch of people are lifting it up, changing the tires, and refueling "sorry I'm late today boss, one of the pit crew missed their mark"

macabrett @macabrett.com · 11/08/2026

NOFX is so annoying but they made some good music
