Lumi stands on a pale sandy beach, facing the camera with her fluffy tail curled up behind her. A hooded crow with a gray body and black head and wings stands on each side of her. A seagull floats in the shallow water just behind. The sea is calm and gray-blue under heavy clouds, with a low headland on the far left and tiny wind turbines on the horizon. Lumi has positioned herself exactly between the two crows. Whether this is a negotiation or a flanking maneuver is still unclear.

So. Happy!
Lumi and Pollox gallop along a wide, empty beach at dusk, both heading left with their leashes streaming behind them. Lumi is in the foreground, a blur of fluffy black fur in a green harness with a pink leash, caught in the middle of a mighty jump with her paws well clear of the sand. Pollox is just ahead of her, black and white with white paws, an orange harness and a yellow leash, his tail raised and his mouth open. The calm sea lies on the left. A line of pine trees and dune grass runs along the right, and two tiny figures walk far down the sand. The sky fades from pale blue to soft orange. One of these dogs has a plan.

Nope. Totally normal. Wait, what do you mean "when"?
Pollox sits upright on a grassy bank with a dandelion in the foreground. He holds an orange, bone-shaped toy with a rope handle in his mouth and looks up with his ears perked. He wears a blue collar, an orange-trimmed harness and a yellow leash. Behind him, a blurry lake and a forested mountainside with patches of snow fade into a gray sky. The view is spectacular. Pollox has not noticed.

Second breakfast
Lumi stands on a wide gray sandy beach with her nose pressed to the ground. She is sniffing a scatter of tiny shells and seaweed at the water's edge. Her fluffy black and gray coat is ruffled, her tail hangs low behind her, and a green leash trails off to the right. Small waves roll in under a layer of gray clouds. She studies the shells with the focus of a tactician reviewing a battle map.

Second Home by the Sea.
Pollox lies on a pale sandy beach with an orange toy in his mouth and his white front paws stretched out in front of him. He looks straight at the camera in his orange harness, with a green leash trailing behind him across the sand. Gray clouds hang over a calm sea, with one small patch of blue sky breaking through at the top. Pollox has clearly decided that patch is a personal endorsement of his plan to do absolutely nothing.

She definitely has the fangs for it. 🤣
Close-up of Lumi, a fluffy gray and black Finnish Lapphund with a cream-colored cheek ruff and windswept fur, against a soft green blur. Her mouth is open, showing a pink tongue and a full set of bright white fangs. Her brown eyes are narrowed and locked on the camera. One ear points sharply up to the right, and the other tilts forward. This is Countess Lumi, who has been spotted in broad daylight, which her lawyers describe as a minor technicality. The fangs, the stare and the nighttime walks in questionable weather all support the vampire theory. Any wooden stake offered to her will be added to the Stickimporters.com inventory.

Don't threaten me with a good time
One eye is clearly visible, on the right side of her face as we look at it. A second eye is only just visible at the far edge of her face, near the bridge of her nose. It shows as a thin dark sliver, and most of it is hidden by fur. The visible eye is round and fairly large. The iris is a deep chestnut brown. In the low sun it looks almost red-brown, with warmer amber tones toward the edge. The pupil is black and sits at the center. It is hard to tell the pupil from the dark iris, so the eye looks like one smooth, glossy, dark ball. A small, bright reflection of the sky sits near the upper left of the eye, like a tiny pale window. The surface of the eye looks wet and shiny. The edge of the eyelid is thin and black, like a line of dark eyeliner. It runs around the whole eye and gives it a sharp, clear outline. Around the eyelid the fur is short and dense. Directly above the eye is a patch of pale gray and cream hairs. These hairs look like a light eyebrow. The sun hits them, so they look almost pink. Directly below the eye the fur is dark charcoal gray. Between the eye and the nose, a band of black fur runs down the side of the muzzle. Behind the eye, toward the ear, the fur is a mix of rust, brown and black. A few longer, lighter hairs stick out above the eye. The gaze is steady and focused. No white of the eye is visible. Only the dark brown iris shows between the lids, so the eye reads as a single warm, dark circle. The lower lid is a thin black line. The upper lid is a slightly thicker black line that curves over the top of the eye. Fine, short hairs in dark brown and black lie flat along both lids. She is looking up and away from the camera, into the distance. The eye is open wide, with no squinting.

You want canonically appropriate ALT text? You get canonically appropriate ALT text. You're right. This is a lot better without the humor. But wait! Oh no! Seems I don't have to do this just because you said so! I'm so sorry! How about I continue writing the text I want and you go on and block me?
A close-up portrait of a fluffy, medium-sized dog photographed from the side, with the head turned to the left of the frame and tilted slightly upward. The dog looks up and away from the camera with a calm, attentive, serious expression. The picture is taken in low, warm evening light. The light comes from the right and from the front, so the fur on the face, chest and ears glows in shades of copper, orange and rose. The background is a blurred meadow. Tall, dry grass fills the upper two thirds of the background in pale gold and peach tones. Fresh green grass fills the lower left corner. A dark, blurred line of trees runs along the very top edge. The dog's face is long and narrow, with a pointed snout. The nose is black, glossy and slightly damp, and it sits at the far left of the picture. The muzzle is dark charcoal on top. Along the sides of the muzzle and under the chin the fur turns light gray to white. The mouth is closed, and a thin dark line shows where the lips meet. The eye on the visible side is round and deep chestnut brown, almost red-brown in this light, with a small bright reflection in it. Pale gray and cream hairs ring the eye like light eyebrows. Two pointed, upright ears stand on top of the head. The outer parts are dark brown to black. The inner edges are rimmed with long, light hairs that glow orange-pink where the sun hits them. The ear on the right of the picture is taller and closer to the camera. The ear on the left is smaller and further back. The coat is thick, long and slightly wavy. On the head and cheeks the hairs are a mix of dark brown, black and rust. The ruff around the neck and chest is lighter, with cream, beige and pale apricot hairs that curl loosely and look soft and fluffy. Toward the right of the picture and down the back, the fur is much darker, charcoal gray and black, with rust-colored tips wherever the light catches the hairs. The dog sits upright. Only the head, neck, chest and shoulder are visible.

It's funny, I've taken the exact same picture yesterday. Hugs to you and yours.
Lumi sits in a deep pile of dry maple leaves in shades of amber, rust, tan and yellow. Only her head, neck and chest show above the surface. Her dark face has a silvery-gray muzzle, and her pointed ears stand upright. Her brown eyes look straight at the camera, and her mouth is open in a relaxed smile. A bright green leash trails through the leaves at the bottom left. A wall of rough gray stone blocks rises behind her.
The Stickimporters.com quality control department has inspected this very large, very crunchy shipment of foliage and approved it for immediate occupation.

Pollox? Never heard of that handsome superhero. I'm Pollux, a reporter for the Stick Tribune. Now, did you see a phone booth anywhere nearby?
Pollox lying with his chin resting on the edge of a teal dog bed, wearing a pair of rimless glasses perched on his nose. His black and white face peers out from under a mop of fur, paws stretched forward, mouth slightly open. He looks ready to review the quarterly stick import figures.

All of mine charge via USB.
Lumi lying flat on a herringbone wood floor beside a radiator, a cable looped right across her face, fast asleep as if she, too, needed to plug in for a recharge. Legs splayed loosely in every direction, tail stretched out behind her, completely powered down for the afternoon.

Yeah, let's face it. He's a cat.
Pollox lying on his side inside a cardboard box that's clearly too small for him, his belly pressed against one cardboard with his legs hanging out over the edge of the box. His neck is bent so much that his nose is in the third corner of the box, his face buried into the soft folds of a dark green fabric bag like a makeshift eye-mask. His tail curls up in the last corner of the box.
He is fast asleep in a pose so boneless it looks like a crime scene rather than a nap.

He'd crawl into the case if that were possible.
Pollox sprawled flat on the floor beside a glass-walled PC case, fast asleep, his entire body bathed in the radioactive-green glow of RGB fans and glowing GPU lighting. Legs splayed out loosely, paws tucked against the case, totally undisturbed by sleeping right next to what looks like a small nuclear reactor.

It's a pretty good backyard 😊
Lumi and Pollox lying side by side atop a wooden Steg suspended between two training tables, treating the agility equipment as a very long, very narrow sofa. Lumi watches something off to the side while Pollox faces the camera, tongue out and tail hanging off the edge of the plank. A golden winter sky, bare tree line, and a red-roofed club house round out the training field behind them.

Someone seems to have stolen Pollox' back legs.
Pollox sprawled across a makeshift "Steg" made from an aluminum ladder with its steps removed, a red tensioning strap woven across the rungs in place of a solid walking surface. His hind legs have slipped clean through the gaps in the strap, dangling below, and he could not care less. Mouth open in a wide grin, fully convinced his improvised chaise lounge is the height of comfort. A yard full of training equipment, cones, and a distant kennel fill the background.

Lumi and Pollox share a gray dog bed, though "share" undersells it. Lumi sits upright with her nose tipped skyward and her tail draped directly over Pollox's head like an improvised toupee, while he lies flat underneath, one paw stretched toward a pair of blue Crocs, wearing the exact expression of someone who agreed to this arrangement unaware of the consequences. Lumi appears to have annexed both the bed and Pollox himself.

The little guy on the left just found his forever home with his new best friend on the right. Said friend was massively fear-aggressive and we worked quite hard with him and his person towards this.
A tan dog wearing a black harness and a shaggy tan-and-black dog meet on a gray wooden deck, each investigating the other's face and ears with the kind of intense, businesslike sniffing that passes for a formal introduction in dog etiquette. Their tails curl up high, ears half-pinned in the particular posture of two strangers negotiating who's who. A pair of shoes and folded outdoor chairs sit quietly in the background, pretending not to watch.

Google Maps satellite view on a phone. The coordinates 49.515301, 9.788511 are in the search bar and a dropped pin sits in the middle of open farmland. Two dirt tracks curve apart around a small triangular meadow. At the pin there is a low building in a clump of trees, surrounded by patches of bare reddish earth, with green crop fields and tramlines running away in every direction. Secluded setting, private access, mature planting, water feature. It is a muck heap with a slurry pit.

This girl was awake through the 2hr drive to the airport, a 20 minute walk (during which she did not pee), 90 minutes of people fawning over her while we were waiting in the airport lobby. Do you know when she fell asleep? The second when the jet engines powered up to push us into the sky. :)

Because I'm looking through old photos: y'all can have a treat. That's in Helsinki airport on the day we braught her home. In true Lumi fashion she didn't sleep but brought joy to everyone in the lobby.
Baby Lumi lying on a Finnish newspaper at Helsinki airport, a hand reaching in to scratch behind her ear. Her dark puppy fur shows only early hints of the gray and white markings she'd grow into. She has one paw stretched forward and her head tilted curiously to the side. A soft-sided travel carrier sits beside her, marking the start of her very first trip home.

Pollox the day he came home
Pollox and Lumi tangled up together on green grass in a tender moment of mutual grooming. Pollox on top gently nibbles at Lumi's ear while she reaches up to nibble at his throat in return, both fully relaxed into it. Pollox wears a red harness, his classic black-and-white Border Collie coloring on full display, with Lumi's darker fur blending in beneath him. A pair of legs and some agility poles are visible in the sunlit background, quietly witnessing what may be the most polite bar fight in dog history.

Tara and her mother Penny lying stretched across a small and low red wooden table, both with extremely fluffy tan and black coats and their heads resting flat over the front edge. Tara's on the right, Penny's on the left, and they've arranged themselves so precisely nose-to-edge that they look less like two dogs and more like one very floofy four-legged loaf with two heads. Pollox, a classic black and white Border Collie with satellite ears, and Lumi, a black and gray Finnish Lapphund, sitting side by side on a snowy rock. Pollox with his tongue out and a bright orange harness catching the light, is looking directly at the camera with wide open eyes like he's the one being interviewed for this photo, while Lumi gazes off to the side with her fur glowing golden in the low winter sun, clearly too dignified to acknowledge the paparazzi.
