I did a science! For 72 hours around the partial eclipse (maximum 92% at 18:12 UTC here), I was sending a radio propagation beacon (WSPR) on 7MHz. I'm still data-wrangling but analysing the reception reports appears to show significantly stronger signals on 2000km+ paths after the eclipse #hamr
Line graph showing the reported signal strengths over 3 successive evenings. The line for 12 August peaks above the other days for about 2 hours after the eclipse.

Currently on holiday in South-West France. Last week, a patisserie 25 minutes' drive away from me won 'Best patisserie in France' on French TV. It would have been rude not to pay them a visit. I can confirm, it's delicious.
3 small tarts on a plate: strawberries on cream, a taller chocolate one and a lemon one with dollops of cream. All have a biscuit base.

Gorgeous morning for a #sota activation with M0VFC and @m1geo.com on the summit of Cornden Hill (GW/MW-013) in the Welsh Borders

Lovely weekend away in my caravan in the Peak District activating a few SOTA summits

In Snowdonia for a long weekend, where I've been doing a few SOTA activations. I seem to have been generally lucky with the weather.

Not too bad here at G3PYE/P but more wind than expected.

Good morning! Back in February, I booked this weekend away on the Suffolk coast. I've certainly been very lucky with the weather!

Spent the bank holiday weekend with @m1geo.com , @m0wut.bsky.social and M0VFC walking in the Lake District. A bit wet for the last couple of days but a lovely camping trip in my caravan.

First Bluesky post and also my first time out in my (new to me) caravan. Stayed fairly local as this trip is just to test everything works. So far, so good.
