Life out here is so beautiful! 🌕 15 months in Hope system and things are still as fascinating as ever around Nahla. Thanks to CMDR B4GER and CMDR Lucifer Satanas for anchoring their fleet carriers here! Such a wonderful and special addition 🍸 #elitedangerous

Super messy. And not messy in the good way either

010

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

Btw when you're in the server, you may have to select the right channel to be able to see it Discord never used to be this way... but then Fleetcomm does have a loooooot of channels!!

100

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Confirmed! Welcome! Will be in-server after beef dinner 🍖

100

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

That said, I don't think it's possible for anyone to improve upon comments like this

100

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Ah apart from the old Skyrim one (The Underforge) where we talked about seahorse cheesecake! That one is very very quiet at the moment though! But the one I am on mainly at the moment is the Fleetcomm one which for some reason you cannot access - maybe this will help? www.reddit.com/r/discordapp...

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Not... yet anyway! I am just sure I haven't found this star yet. I don't think fdev would have the skybox invent stars... I am just doing something wrong I think!

000

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Oh how annoying. I'll have to ask the admins what's going on.

010

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Thank you, and I hope it extends to being able to identify which system Miley's Star is because I cannot currently! There is nothing there in the vicinity on the galaxy map which I can see that it could be. Not a planet in-system either. So weird!

100

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

Good call, probably a mixture of size and luminosity. I mean... it's not really in the scope of the research here BUT it's an interesting find. Dolly's Star is a K2 VA, whereas that brighter one above it? Not on Miley's panel, so further away I would guess

110

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

And you know what... I just learned something. Star brightness doesn't apparently relate to distance but star type. If true that is an interesting discovery

100

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

Tonight, Miley's engines pause once again, but this time for a different reason. For now, here on Nahla, we are designating Hypi Bra NW-D C12-18 as "Dolly's Star". Thank you for everything you shared with us <3 #elitedangerous

The work here is never done! Depending on how this voyage goes, observations/improvements to the tracker and the second annual report next July may be a group effort. We'll see. The uptake has been very encouraging and one commander has even left for Nahla already 🏃‍♀️

Miley left Nahla and Hope system today for the first time since November, to do a quick trip to TMCV Castus (3k LY away) to sell some cartographic data (and get a new paint job!)... And I ended making Elite in the process! Not a bad trip! Back to Nahla very soon 🌕 #elitedangerous

250

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

That is true but I'm glad you did here anyway. The ELW in this system has been permanently Scoopified!

110

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

No you don't! I mean you still have to sell the cartographic data and there's a chance of going kaboom en route if you're not careful of course but yes, you don't actually have to go to it. A bit weird I suppose when one thinks about it!

100

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

The honk tells you whether it's worth bothering with the FSS and makes an entertaining noise! An FSS depends on the size of the system but you have to 'find' the planets and zoom into each one. Much respect to those who had to actually fly to the planet to get their name on it, absolutely!

100

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Heh I like that too. And yes, Skadi is your Moonlike Earthlike in this same system! Hypi Bra EV-P d5-78 8 🌏

010

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Ahh that makes sense - so honking gave you the entire map but you had to fly close to something to get your name on it. Nowadays honking only tells you how many bodies are in the system, but you have to do a separate full system scan (FSS, can be done without moving) do get that full bodies list!

110

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Here we are! What a historic image! But I am a little confused... does this mean you did scan the entire system? The game says you discovered Rebekah but not Nahla... or were the criteria for doing so different back then to get one's name on something?

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Now you can see all my weird posts in the horror film and Ariana Grande communities! Apart from that though, I think it's absolutely amazing that he came all the way out here. And some of the shots are gorgeous. He did it in VR as well, I'm jealous!

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Someone else made it all the way out here to Nahla and took some fantastic shots! It's absolutely wonderful to see that CMDR JohnMk2 flew 44k LY to see the place and to take some amazing VR photos in their Caspian! Quite humbling 🌕 Thread here: www.reddit.com/r/EliteDange... #elitedangerous

If you had happened to land on Nahla at that time in Natalja's Pass, it would have been the absolute dead of night, dark but beautiful ✨🌌

100

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

This is excellent information. Using Nahla Calculator we can see that Nahla was, then, 3/4 of the way around Rebekah. nahla.live/nahla_calcul... Notice the transit log gives the year as "-6" since this was six Nahlan years (555d x 6) before I came along. I'll work out the rest of the data!

110

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

It's a joint effort! I never would have gone there otherwise, I happened to be in a part of the galaxy in July 2025 which you had flown through in your circumnav :) Due to the planets which have your name on, I can take a guess as to your path and where they were. Do you have a date for your visit?

100

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

And yes, EDSM is just a subset - even though it says I discovered the place, I only technically uploaded it first to EDSM, but Hope system has Scoopy Doopy's name over most of it in-game! :) 2/2

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

Yes, and that Sidewinder event is a funny one, and I have a theory about it! When I first mentioned the system on Reddit, someone said, "I'm going to take my fleet carrier there". I would imagine if they did end up doing it, they parked in the next system and flew their sidey in, but who knows! 1/2

110

Lysander @lysander666.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

The first one, that Sidewinder in 2025, may well have been random! The second one messaged me today over Reddit to tell me they had arrived and were checking the place out. I have asked for some screenshots, I hope we get some!

Yazra is on her way to Nahla... probably about 12k ly away currently and stopped here... This is one of the most beautiful horizons I've seen in the game. An ice planet orbiting a class L brown dwarf with a neon atmosphere. Just gorgeous! Had to share🍺 #elitedangerous

These ones! This is an old machine! I had to get a new CPU cooler because the stock one for the FX-8350 wasn't enough and the PC kept shutting down during Elite🌡️ I must have had like fifty thermal shutdowns before I thought "maybe I should replace the CPU cooler!" It's a Cooler Master 212 EVO 🪭

In a surprise discovery (for me), adding a 16GB SWAP file on Linux means you can up your graphics settings. Before I was using 16GB of RAM, and I had the idea of doubling this with a SWAP file. I had no idea RAM had this effect on graphics! I can now see even better on Nahla 🌕 #elitedangerous
