At the time of this photo, the sun was high in the sky, so it is heavily shaded as it hovers above. However, the orange feet and yellow/orange beak and inner eye are still visible.
RSPB says Kestrels have the nickname of ‘windhover’ which is exactly how I found this creature: It was hovering and riding the breezes coming up and off the cliffs.
