No force on this earth is gonna get me to watch that. I really like Robert Evans book where they do the whole live execution thing, both because it catches the "air of uncertainty" thing and the fact if you have any morals you'll either throw up or bury the feeling so deep it takes therapy.

Yeah I get that I do not want to read the Thomas Tank Engine counting book again. I very much do not want to. Will I be reading that book again in about an hour... yeah probably. But my kid has managed to read more words each time, and that's worth taking the psychic damage because that's so cool

I will never understand the automation of joy. Reading to kids can be frustrating as hell, but like at the end of it, there's a kid excited by a story you were telling... That's so cool. I've used audiobooks when I don't have spoons, but even then experiencing books with small humans is cool.
