Actually, that's not entirely accurate! Papetoon (パペトゥーン) is the green planet shown in the opening of Star Fox 64. Additionally, in the Japanese version it is explained that Peppy returns there to inform Fox of his father's passing. I've provided a translation of the image in its alt text.

At one point I wanted to wait until I could get a Wacom tablet to draw but then I got tired of waiting and trying to save up money, so instead I just drew with a mouse and keyboard in a free image editor. Drawing is fun, go draw something.

It's more clear from earlier depictions that it's a tongue. The logo comes from the flag / coat of arms of Skåne (Scania), the province from which the company gets its name.
