DO WE NEED DATA CENTERS OR DO WE NEED WATER? Champaign, Illinois residents supported a Moratorium on Data Centers w/"Protect Our Water" signs. A 6th grader remarked, "We need the water, but we do not need AI. We can just have the intelligence ourselves,” he told county board members. It passed.

The Imperial Board of Supervisors of Imperial Valley passed a 45-day moratorium on data centers in unincorporated areas of the county. That moratorium is about to expire, and some residents hope the moratorium is extended. CALIFORNIA IS GOING TO FIGHT THIS ONE AS IT'S IN DROUGHT. GOOD LUCK TO THEM!

WELCOMED 37 DATA CENTERS TO TOWN! Now schools have to dim the lights to cut energy costs. A 25% electricity-rate increase is hitting the government & schools of Virginia’s Henrico County. They're asked to turn off lights, shut down computers, unplug chargers, adjust blinds, and avoid space heaters.
