On day two we were able to visit the Jerpoint Glassmaking Studio to watch the fascinating process of glass blowing. The trip has both inspired and informed our participants and their fabulous work here at LYCS, so keep an eye out for our upcoming exhibition early 2027! @NEICDublin

Our #LYCS Stained Glass Group were delighted to travel down to Kilkenny last week on a trip that focused on the history and process of Irish glassmaking. We had the opportunity to visit the Kilkenny National Craft & Design Gallery to see the Oil, Sand, and Ash exhibition.

Dr. Okeke has lectured at Maynooth University and DCU; her doctoral research examined the trafficking of Black African women for sexual exploitation in Ireland, providing vital insights for global policy and social justice.

Dr. Jennifer Okeke is the Chairperson of the National Women’s Council (NWC), a research consultant, and an "Ambassador of Peace" recipient. A sociologist and subject-matter expert, her work focuses on gender-based violence, trafficking, migration, and intersectional inequality.
