I'm privileged in that technically I can take train or bus to visit family, but it would take 12hrs of active travel time + commuting. The same trip is a 45 minute flight, 1hr commute, and costs the same as train... I value my time and prefer not wasting an entire day :/ (gets travel sick easily)

Tax in Norway is around 22-35% depending on income. We don't use oil money directly, we put it into a Sovereign Wealth Fund that invests in companies abroad, and are allowed to use 3% of the yearly interest. The Fund currently owns 1,5% of the worlds public stocks 💪

We have 2 standardized written forms of Norwegian, but neither completely match the spoken language or dialects. Honestly, it's a lot easier for someone from Oslo and Stockholm to understand each other, than it is for either of them to understand some of the Inner / Western Norwegian dialects

Honestly it's so weird that racists LARP viking culture cause it was a surprisingly progressive culture even in today's standards. Women had equal rights and could get divorced and remarry. They were also accepting of other religions, and they actually washed their asscheeks every week.
