Great! Thanks for that recommendation. I’ll check it out. I’m currently waiting for some samples of inks to come in the mail. It’s good to finally find another Aussie artists here.

Thanks! I really appreciate your response. I am still nervous about using ink to sketch. Putting a wash down first would help with that fear, I think

Love the vibrancy of this. I curious to know if you did the wash first or after the pen work. How/why did you choose these colours?

Pollard pruning is a traditionally European style. It is a way of controlling the overall size of the tree, useful in crowded cities.

Impressive how few strokes gives an impression and feel of a subject. I aim to be as decisive in my line work

I love the green Sailor Fude. Sadly I couldn’t find one here in Australia so I had to get a brown one. Of course, I also had to get samples of brown inks to match!

Love it! I also enjoy using toned paper. Need to get myself a posca pen tho. My rollerball is not doing the job.

Love this! Tho I have to admit I wondered if you were drawing with chapsticks. I’ve never seen the tempera sticks. I will now go searching

Romeo is my model to trial my fountain pen. This is an unbranded fude (foo-day) nib that allows the strokes to be both fine and broad, resembling a brush (fude in Japanese) It’s quirky. And fun. #fountainPen #fudeNib #inkSketch #inkDrawing #cavoodle #puppy #petPortrait #quickSketch #oodle #dog

Nano painting @reunion_cafe and had a delicious coffee and lunch. George was an awesome host and was very appreciative of my painting. I love moments like this. Thank you George 😀 you’ve made my day ☕️🎨 #nanoPainting #miniPainting #watercolour #watercolor #painting #cafePainting

Finally, my finished Under Sea mandala for the Calm exhibition, as part of Adelaide Fringe Festival. I didn’t use a pattern - both liberating and scary. When it’s 42°c outside I choose to sit in the aircon to paint in my mini sketchbook. I found a shrubbery in the food court, which allowed me to block out all the people around me. #painting #watercolour #watercolor #sketchbook #miniPallet #summer #australia #urbanSketch #art #artist #illustration

Thank you. I don’t usually paint this small. But it’s fun and can be quick.

Thanks! The pallet tea is lovely rosewood and I’ve filled it with my favourite Daniel Smith watercolours

🎨 Painting in my mini book with mini pallet. Quite a challenge to reduce the vista to such a tiny square. But I’m always up for a challenge. 🎨 #watercolour #watercolor #miniSketchBook #enPleinAir #urbanSketch #outdoorPainting #landscape #vista #paint #painting

☕️ finished the coffee sketch that I started yesterday. I truly love working on tinted paper with colour pencils. Also, when the view is uninspiring, I look at the details, like the wicker chairs ☕️ #coffee #sketch #drawing #sketchbook #illustration #hanemühle #colourPencil #enPleinAir #urbanSketch

Progress update: embroidering the bubbles in my under sea crochet mandala. Next bit is to attempt some seaweed and perhaps to extend it somewhat. #crochet #embroidery #mandala #calm #underwater #underTheSea #wip #workinprogress #progress #deadlinesWork

I’m working on an entry for a Fringe Festival exhibition - an ocean mandala with embroidered seaweed. It’s a long process because I’ve been changing it as I go. But it needs to be finished very soon. Wish me luck 🍀 #crochet #fringeFestivalAdelaide @fabrik.arts #calm #underSea #makingThisUpAsIGo

Love this idea. Sadly I’m on the other side of the globe and postage monthly will be too much for me

I’m working on a new thing for me.. sort of. I’ve been asked to participate in a crochet mandala wall for an Adelaide Fringe Festival exhibition. It’s exciting! I’ve never even thought of exhibiting my crochet. Will keep you posted 🧶 #crochet #adelaideFringe #mandala
