A white/green version and a traditional colours version.

It's too red for my liking and in the video of them showing the players outside it looks even more like red and black. The edited version on the right looks more Luton like in colours to me. A shame as it's a decent enough design otherwise.

The double drop
Hatters humbled and relegated again. The absolute state of us.

The promotions and relegations of most of the other teams higher up than us are likely between the same two leagues, whereas we do it in style by embracing all of the professional pyramid.

Yesterday was the first proper last day relegation since 1992. Shows how when we do go down we normally go down with even more of a whimper considering there’s been another 6 relegations between then and yesterday.

Sent down on goal difference, which feels kinda apt given the arrogance of the club backing Rob Edwards’ anti-defence philosophy of rather winning 5-4 than 1-0. Meanwhile Burnley concede just 16 and reach 100 points and the Premier League.

I’m over-reacting by pointing out the appointment of Matt Bloomfield hasn’t worked out this season by statistically showing we’ve been the worst team in the Championship since he took over? I’m not calling for his head here and I said I hope he comes good for us in League 1.

What on earth? Talk about an over-reaction 😆

Last 6 form we weren’t in the Top 6. We had 1.5 PPG in the last 6 before and after yesterday. The stats don’t lie, it’s been a bad appointment for the circumstances we were in. He said he’d learnt from previous mistakes to start faster at Luton, yet 3 points in his first 8 cemented our relegation.

Aside from Harford inheriting a squad from Blackwell that was being sold off due to administration in 2008, his start as Luton manager is the worst in our history. He's been as poor as Rob Edwards, but I agree RE shoulders the most blame between the two.

LutonTownFans @lutontownfans.com · 12/04/2025
You second sentence contradicts your first, doesn't it? Surely he has to take some blame if you believe NJ could have got the same squad to mid-table?

LutonTownFans @lutontownfans.com · 12/04/2025
Below is the table since Bloomfield arrived at the club. Fair to say it has been a disaster of an appointment given the circumstances we found ourselves in and his remit. He may well come good in League 1 (🤞), but that's not what he was appointed for.
Luton bottom of the table since January 14th when Bloomfield was appointed with just 15 points from 16 games.

With Derby's win tonight the gap to safety increases to 3 points (effectively 4 points with our poor GD). Here are the remaining fixtures for Stoke, Oxford, Derby, Hull, Cardiff and Luton who are the teams fighting to avoid the last two relegation places.

You mean the tiny little Luton Town corner in their garage wasn't enough to convince you? 😄

0.43ppg in 7 winless games under Matt Bloomfield and we can’t even beat a horrendously bad side at home because we’re also horrendously bad. Feels like a fever dream that 366 days ago we were playing Man Utd as their peer.

This planning application for the river that has just been approved was submitted in March 2024 and pre-dates the detailed planning application for the stadium by about 6 months. Buildings around the stadium still need planning, but everything else is approved, though conditions have to be met.

I think an S106 agreement needs to be finalised, but planning application wise I believe that’s everything needed to start construction on the stadium. Enabling developments to the west and east of the stadium are in their own application.

So Lasse Nordås to Luton from Tromsø is a done deal then from all reputable accounts and also Matt Bloomfield having a big smile on his face when Geoff Doyle asked him about it on BBC Three Counties. A 6'4" striker that seems a very similar profile to Elijah 🤔

New club record of consecutive away defeats averted! Not a great second half from us, but it's a small step of progression and hopefully we can now build on this after this 10 day break.

Here's a confusing look at Luton playing tomorrow's opponents Sheffield Wednesday in 1986 at Kenilworth Road. Anyone know why we were in blue? Because of the snow that had to be cleared from the pitch or was their yellow kit deemed too close to our white one? hattersheritage.co.uk/matches/luto...

We’ve got a bit of a use it or lose it situation. Hatters Heritage haven’t been posting on BlueSky because there’s very little interaction with their posts or visits to the websites. It would be wonderful if we could build the LTFC community on this ap and HH should be a integral part of that. 1/2

The great thing about Gary Doherty was that he scored 15 times for us, but I can’t recall a single spectacular goal. All headers and close range finishes, which is what you want from your striker turned defender turned striker turned defender turned striker.

To put that into context, Kone has scored in 10 different League 1 games this season in 27 appearances. That's 37%. Joe Taylor who we sold for (at most) half of that £6m figure scored in 7 different games out of 19 last season at the same level of football. Again that is 37%. What a car crash.

2012/13 was pretty bad, but as it was the Conference we were still winning games. In terms of poor results AND having a team showing no strength of character then it would definitely be the Blackwell years.

I’ve seen 7 relegations and this one coming soon will be by far the most embarrassing one of all given our current circumstances. 2020 have thrown it away by being too loyal to a manager and letting the rot set in with the players, all of whom now accept losing and have no fight or character.

Also a weird narrative being pushed by people with an axe to grind with Gary Sweet about Bloomfield only being appointed because he’ll be a compliant ‘yes man’ for GS.

I'm sure we'll always be eternally grateful to Rob Edwards for leading us to promotion to the Premier League and hopefully that is only how we will remember him if we see off any relegation threat this season. It's sad that it ended the way it did, but it had to happen for the sake of the club.

11 in the league under Graeme Jones. 12 in total with the FA Cup defeat at Bournemouth. So we're nearly at the point of matching it.

Remember when we thought post-Middlesbrough that Rob Edwards was going to be sacked after losing 8 of the first 15 games? 7 defeats in just 11 games since then and after the "inspiring coming of minds" during the November international break that Gary Sweet wrote about.

I felt like it would have been with a heavy heart after Middlesbrough, but 7 defeats later it'll just feel like relief.

It is unlucky because it shouldn’t count and is a mistake by the ref ultimately, however the rest of your message I agree with 100%.

LutonTownFans @lutontownfans.com · 06/01/2025
Poor stuff again really. Unlucky with the goals conceded but they could have won about 6-2 if everyone had taken their good chances. Nothing’s going to change, so on we march towards the all time consecutive away defeat record.

LutonTownFans @lutontownfans.com · 01/01/2025
I don’t disagree, though I also think that we’re not set up to get the most out of the players we already do have. So I fear the same thing will keep happening regardless of the quality of signings because RE has lost it. It’ll be like Ten Hag spending £600m at MU and not improving a single thing.

LutonTownFans @lutontownfans.com · 01/01/2025
I agree I am wasting my breath, as frankly for the first time since 2008 the board are being cowardly with their inaction and will sadly continue to disappoint the majority of fans now on the football side of things. Doesn’t mean I’ll be quiet about it though.
100
LutonTownFans @lutontownfans.com · 01/01/2025
Yep, it’s infuriating. A “Billy big bollocks” mentality is infecting the board right now and causing them to think we’re too good to go down because they got gaslit by Premier League pundits into thinking Rob Edwards was amazing just because we didn’t set the all time low points total.

LUTON HAVE LOST THE MOST GAMES IN THE LEAGUE. Let that sink in. We’re a football club currently benefiting from parachute payments after spending a season in the Premier League and we’ve lost 14 of the 25 games we’ve played (56%).
