Bit of a late response, but this was the reason they gave me for the suspension :/

Fuck this. A company with a $79B market cap shouldn’t ask its customers for donations. That $1M goal is 0.00127% of UPS’s market cap. A fart in a storm.

Shows the goal of $1M with $1610 raised so far.

Six-Spotted Tiger Beetle near my pond. Is it me or does it look like it’s drinking a tiny droplet of water?

Photo shows a shiny blueish green beetle.

Probably the largest moth I’ve ever seen irl.

I can't resist The Folio Society. I *need* to own their edition of The Song of Achilles. I already have two copies, including a signed one, but this one looks fantastic—sorry, wallet.

Not the future we need, but the one that we deserve.

“4 fun ways AI can help spice up your love life,” the ad says. There’s a woman in a red sweater pointing her thumbs at herself with the caption “it did not write that. That was all me.”

Bandwidth consumption of my custom TTRPG feed doubled when Bluesky went public and remains there. CPU, too.

I'm convinced this book could have been 200 pages shorter. It's not a bad Star Trek book, but it's definitely not my favorite, and it doesn't inspire me to read the rest of the series (though I will since I can't leave a thread unraveled) 🫤

The last book I finish in 2023 is Kahless, by Michael Jan Friedman, an exceptionally well written novel about the life of Kahless that takes many unexpected turns. If you enjoyed the Kahless clone TNG episode, you owe it to yourself to read this book. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in a day.

So far I’ve read the two Avatar DS9 books, which set up events that happen 3 months after the ending of DS9. Really nice set of novels. I’ve also just finished A Stitch in Time, a novel about Garak, written by the actor who played him. A fantastic novel, providing so much depth to the character.

Sure, Firefox, why not peg a single core out of 32 at 100%? None of the open tabs use CPU resources, so this is purely the parent process doing something dumb in the background forever.

The firefox process reports itself at 130% CPU usage.
