Not too hard to guess what these are based off of if you know your myth! The sídhe ancestries are dwellers of the Reverie a most curious place closely attuned to active elements...

Sídhe Ancestries
These edér descendants are native to the Reverie and while a few might roam to the Dream and Nightmare, they are considered extremely rare upon them.

Raval Ancestry

Edér, Raval, Humanoid, Sídhe

Raval also known as raven sídhe are a rare sídhe descendent of edér upon Luxilice, native to the Reverie.

Raval are known for the seclusive vampiric natures which often leave them as outcasts to those who know of them. Taking somewhat after the appearance of crows, raval have what appear to be feathered ears and sharp pointed canines.

Unlike most edér, raval are made unique through their ability and necessity to consume the echo of others by drinking their blood. Usually sated by the blood of managarm, it's often required for raval to drink from another edér at least once a week before they begin to suffer the effects of mana deficiency. Though the origins of the two could not be more different, raval are often compared to vampires, a grave insult to both parties... though for obviously different reasons.

Alari, also known as sky dwellers, native celestials, and those who dwell on high. Are a rare descendant of edér that inhabits all three shards.

Known for their striking angelic traits, while sometimes also seen as bird-like, the alari do not aptly fit the description of birdfolk, almost falling more in common with elves than other edér, being particularly echo-attuned.

Xueto Ancestry

Xueto also known as frostborn are rare edér descendants.

They are said to be born from a pact between the deity Icia and the remnants of far northern edér civilisations seeking salvation to escape the frozen wastes of their home in the wake of the Sundering.

Xueto are considered elemental edér, sharing close relationships with spirits which comes as both a bane and a blessing.

Nivi Ancestry

Edér, Nivi, Humanoid

Nivi, serpent folk, or very friendly people whom do not bite their friends are a rare descendancy of edér living upon Luxilice.

Most well known for their form of primal aspect, wherein they have the lower half of a serpent in place of the legs.

Often feared in Luxilice due to their monstrous forms the Nivi live often secluded lives for the most part, save for those living in lands where they are common or expected.

Ruán Ancestry

Edér, Ruán, Humanoid

Ruán or children of silk are a rare descendancy of the edér upon Luxilice.

Found upon all three shards, they have a tendency to stray far from major societies, and are known to be reclusive or even hermits in most cases, as such most actually regard them as no more than legends or myth.

They're not common by any means but because they are capable through latent magical abilities to temporarily warp and conceal their forms having met one without knowing is more than likely.

Kithiri Ancestry

Kithiri, also known as sharkfolk or the ground's speaking Ahkan are a rare edér upon Luxilice. Known for their ability to sink beneath the sands and move at high speed, equipped with sharklike tails and fin-like ears. They can also sense movement through the ground. What fun!

Found mostly within the Dream, and in small numbers in the Nightmare. They are known for their unique capabilities of magically being able to move through loose substances with ease, they're known as the fastest land roaming edér of them all.

Uncommon ancestries! My personal favourites (as some may be able to deduce) are the Vulsha and Šenvalis!

Uncommon Ancestries
These edér descendants can be found in most places upon Luxilice or the shards, but in fewer numbers than those considered common. Most have met at least one, likely more depending on where they call home.

Vulsha Ancestry

Edér, Vulsha, Humanoid

Vulsha also known as foxfolk and spirits of the land are an uncommon descendent of edér known for their fox-like features and tail, as well as their ability to shapeshift into a fox-like form.

Filled with an innate and deep sense of wanderlust, many vulsha dedicate themselves to exploring. Now a vulsha's method of exploring often game in many different forms and shapes. Some pursued it in its most natural form, exploring the lands of Luxilice, while others would pursue fields of study or other deep interests.

Elf Ancestry

Elves are an uncommon descendant of particularly echo-attuned edér known for their magically influenced bodies and pointed ears.

Particularly echo-attuned, the elves are known to be the closest to our edér ancestors, having the closest physical appearance to them. Elves, due to their powerful attunement to their surroundings, are heavily impacted by the environments they are born in as their bodies consist of more echo than the typical individual.

This leads to elvish children sometimes wildly differing from their parents in appearance if the environments of their birth are not shared.

Levia Ancestry

Levia, also known as water walkers or those of leviathan's blood are an uncommon edér with fish or serpent-like features known to predominantly inhabit or take advantage of the vast waters and oceans of Luxilice.

Though they cannot breath underwater, as they are lacking in gills, their capability for swimming, extended breath capacity, and ingenuity lead to many living lives dictated by the currents of the world's water.

Hes'is Ancestry

Hes'is or half-dragons, dragonblood, or children of scale, are a rather unique descendancy of edér living upon Luxilice.

Uniquely born of the pairing between edér and dragon, the blood and potency of their natural affinities fade with generations, eventually diluting itself, even when families consist only of Hes'is.

Fairly uncommon across the shards, they often have populations in areas where dragons have a tendency to inhabit. It's not rare to see a suspiciously high number of them near locations where a dragon is known to live... gee, I wonder why?

Šenvalis Ancestry

Edér, Šenvalis, Humanoid

Šenvalis, šen, or šenvali are an uncommon descendent of the Edér upon Luxilice.

The šen are known for their rounded ears, though they are also sometimes pointed, similar to that of grimalkin or vulsha, and bushy tails. These ears and tails bear a resemblance to ferrets, weasels, martens, and other animals with similar forms. The šen are thought to have two primal sources, one upon Ibilis and another upon Arkaya, but over time, they have spread throughout Luxilice and as with all edér: latent echo has shifted their forms into many unique groups.

Feol, smallfolk, or halflings, are a common race of edér upon Luxilice.

Feol are short, and most often exhibit the physical traits of rabbits with some heritages resembling various types of lagomorphs or rodents.

Feol in addition are typically lithe and speedy, with close-knit societies that tended to prefer relaxed and safe environments, usually as a group of extended families living fairly close by to one another.

Grimalkin Ancestry

Grimalkin, also known as catfolk or grimm, are a fairly common descendent of the edér with cat-like features and traits that can be found across Luxilice.

From dry deserts to frozen taigas, their environments have shaped them into effective survivors and hardened souls.

Te'senra also known as dwarves, sheepfolk, or children of tsenra, are a common descendent of edér upon Luxilice with stout hardy forms, cloven hooves, and horns.

Typically quite stout and with horns that resemble that of a ram, the dwarves were born from edér that sought the aid of giants to survive the sundering, these first pacts resulted in the original home of the dwarves in the Highlands of Tsenra.

I'll be the first to admit that it feels somewhat indulgent to depict the visage of myself within my journal, but at the request of some companions who deemed it just as important as many of the other writings I have contained within the chronicles... so too shall this grace its pages... I suppose.

It's odd to describe myself as I would others but here we are...

Storyteller, also known as Story, Traveller, Adventurer, Wanderer, Chronicle, and the Polaris, is a Vulshan exporer and mage. She is dedicated to recording and exploring the whole of Luxilice. Writing down all she can into the very chronicle that you're reading right now!

She...

I am of the Chroniclers: a vulshan clan of lorekeepers blessed by the primal Isl... Both of whom no longer wander these lands as you or I do.

In their absence I practice their techniques and continue their work. I hope to one day teach another, I wish not for them to die with me.

Gear that I find myself wearing most often while traveling or in town.

Some of it was gifted by friends, others I've had since I was a kit!

A permanent reminder of the day my clan died... and what awoke within me when it happened.

It was given to me when I came of age much like any other of my clan.

Woven into its fabric are the names of my parents. Their hopes for my life are written on scrolls sealed within the cloth...

It is a shame they never got to see them come true.

My corset was a gift from my friends some years ago...

The leather was from a great beast of Aine'sha hunted by Faye.

The gold was gathered by Oris in Hitani and worked into shape by Eregrin.

The thread was spun by silk spiders of Revaris and gifted by Igni.

The enchantments are sigilwork sculpted by Loki.

The patterns are inspired by the symbols of my clan, and designed by Vincente, Shion, and Farryn.

Finally it was assembled by the ever-skilled hands of Vadrys...

It gives me great joy and while I wear it: it is as though my friends always travel alongside me...

My copy of the Luxilice Chronicles! I originally went through many journals until I was gifted this one by Lene.

It is capable of magically exchanging pages with those in my backpack! So long as I have a store of paper I can continue to write as much as I want! I can even recall old notes as needed!

Boots made for walking!

They are woven with sigilwork that enhances their comfort and avoids any sort of issues from the material itself being walked upon or rubbed against.

Thank echo for sigilwork's existence.

I wear this when I'm out and about (most of the time!).

The hat, scarf, and sleeves are fashioned of a material known as shiftweave, allowing it to change colours and patterns!

Sigilwork has been embedded deep into the threadwork, providing a variety of effects anyone would find useful on their travels!

Most everything on my person is enchanted in some ways, I'd go into details but... a fox needs her secrets.

This hat was fashioned in the style of a similar one a mentor of mine wears. He was a difficult fellow but none can deny the skill and prowess he possesses.

Without his aid, I would have died long ago.

These sleeves are fashioned in the style of those worn by the sages of my clan, those who had mastered our ways.

My mother and father both wore ones of their own.

I feel as though I have earned these, but I'll never know for sure...

Scarves are an excellent companion to any self respecting traveller! They block the wind, give you warmth, and some bestow the ability to fly for a short while.

I assure you, that's a common feature of scarves.

I like this red when I'm travelling about! It's a little more subtle!
Red and adventurers are synonymous in my mind!

-Dark Royal Blue-
This feels somewhat more royal or official.
Fancy environments surely call for a blue like this!

Manaweave is even capable of patterns like these!

Okay so I said it was the last set of sketches but I also have this character I very quickly finished for a pathfinder one shot. A Ripple in the Deep Witch: I took Living Hair and Syu Tak-Nwa's Skillful Tresses flavouring them both as tentacles. Optimal? No. Fucking awesome? Yes.

Where this becomes more interesting is vulsha with many tails. While rare, usually gained through a spirit's blessing, these vulsha are capable of communicating with all of them simultaneously allowing them to layer numerous ideas... however confusing that might be to a conversation partner...

Scribbled note

Here is where the multiple tails of some blessed vulsha become nothing more than a complete annoyance to those around them! Ignoring the amount of extra care one has to heed to avoid stepping on sometimes up to NINE additional limbs moving with a will of their own: those with additional tails certainly make use of them to annoy me as much as possible!

Communicating sometimes multiple messages or parts of the SAME message at the same time in a complete information overload by manipulating each tail individually! VERY IMPRESSIVE! Please just use your words you self-aggrandizing egotist! Your history is already difficult enough to parse when it's told in order, simultaneously telling each part just makes it infinitely worse!

... I still wish I had more than one.

With all that tinder, I think it was then truly ignited by art from @lalansane.bsky.social. I've loved their art for a long time and they've inspired me a lot. The feeling of these pieces particularly really dug into a sort of whimsical wanderlust that I've been chasing after ever since.
