Haven't been watching a ton of movies lately since I've been catching up on series, but this week has been a good one. And I got to see Poltergeist in the theater!

My last 4 on letterboxd - Beetlejuice, Poltergeist, Kwaidan, And Addams Family Values

The fog has been insane this week. The first one was taken at 11:30 this morning and the second one was taken about 3 mins ago. What a difference 90 mins makes.

Picture of part of Seattle from my office window showing how foggy it is. You can't see any of the buildings more than a block away.

Picture of part of Seattle from my office window showing how beautifully clear it is about 90 mins later. You can now see all of the buildings as far as the eye can see.

My favorite @poorlydrawnlines.bsky.social comic from years ago. I actually have a framed print of this one

a 6 panel comic from @poorlydrawnlines.bsky.social:
PANEL 1 shows a vampire with mouth open and arm draping a cape in front with the words IT'S A VAMPIRE! above the vampire
PANEL 2 shows a man with brown hair and a beard with a bubble above him saying AHHHH!
PANEL 3 shows a skeleton with it's mouth open and hands raised with AND A SKELETON! above the skeleton
PANEL 4 is the same man with brown hair and a beard with a bubble saying EWW.
PANEL 5 shows the same skeleton with arms lowered out of frame with mouth partially open just staring
PANEL 6 shows the same skeleton laying on its side with a blanket on top and its head on a pillow (with window with the curtains drawn in the background) with a bubble above saying EW?

Up to date! First time getting both flu and covid together, so I took tomorrow off to rest up since I usually have a bad time with just covid. I'm lucky and grateful that my job sets these up for us to make it so easy.

I was going through some stuff in one of my cabinets in our office tonight & I came across these pictures my sister drew for me. The first one she drew in jr. high & the updated one she drew for me for Christmas the year I got married. She always did fun stuff like this for me. I miss her so much

A black ink drawing from my sister of the front of a movie theater with the marquee saying "NOW PLAYING KILLER ANTS FROM OUTER-SPACE"

There is a woman on the left with a bubble saying "ahhh they're here, they're here" and another woman in the ticket booth with a bubble saying "oh my God they are". The ticket booth has a sign on the front that says:
Adults....$6.00
Kids....$5.00
Cats......FREE

On the left is a movie poster for Killer Ants From Outer Space and on the right is another movie poster for a movie called My Life as a Hermit with a very hairy man with his arms in the air and a bubble saying "go away"

There is a cat in front of the ticket booth that has a bubble saying "killer ants from outer space was sooooo fake!!"

And to the right behind the cat is an actual killer ant from outer space

A updated colored pencil and crayon drawing from my sister 10 yrs later of the front of a movie theater with a woman in the ticket booth with a bubble saying "oh my God they're here!". The ticket booth has a sign on the front that says:
Adults....$8.00
Children....$3.00
Seniors......$2.00
Cats......FREE

This time on the right is only half of the movie poster for Killer Ants From Outer Space and on the left is the movie poster for the movie called My Life as a Hermit with a very hairy man with his arms in the air and a bubble saying "go away"

There is an orange striped cat in front of the ticket booth that has a bubble saying "killer ants from outer space was sooooo fake!!"

And behind the cat is an actual killer ant from outer space

We finally brewed beer again yesterday. We made a brown using 3 lbs of fresh hops harvested from our garden yesterday morning. It turned out really good and I'm so jealous I won't be able to drink any of it. It'll ready in about 3 weeks.

A table with part of a beer recipe, a small bag with 1 oz of Magnum hop pellets and 3 large plastic containers holding 3 lbs of mixed cascade and Willamette fresh hops on top

A boiling keg with brown liquid (wort) filled with a mix of Cascade and Willamette fresh hops floating in it. This is after flame out and cool down to 170 before transfer/chilling to the conditioning keg to add the yeast to make this beer.

Here's another great one. The Hot Shop is always really cool, too. We watched them making dragon toppers for some decanters for an upcoming fundraiser auction. Plus they do classes, so we are going to do one in a few months and will make some pumpkins.

Well, after 7 weeks, it's looking like the scar on my finger is not going to be so bad. Most of the sensitivity is gone, except very localized to where the scar is. I'm hoping that will resolve soon, as well. Yesterday I finally felt good enough to go get my nails done. Sooo much better!

My husband & I just spent 30 mins of chasing Ezri around the house to give her her pm antibiotics dose. After 5 days we're running out of tricks. We still have 5 more days of ear cleaning & ointment and 9 more days of antibiotics to go. We're going to have to get really creative.

She still wouldn't come in before I got home from work but after an hour of trying to coax her she finally came into the garage & we closed up the opening. It took another 2 hours to get her into the house after hiding behind a cabinet though. Now she won't leave my side & has crashed out on me.

Well, it's been a month and my finger is slowly starting to look back to normal, but damn! I know I had to have cut the nerve because it feels constantly tingly and weird. I really hope that goes away. At least I'm not having the shooting pain every time I touch near the base closest to my palm.

Poor little Ezri has ear mites in her left ear. The right one seems clear and no one else seems to have them either. I've cleaned her ears a few times this week, but of course she needs some meds. Thankfully our vet had an opening this afternoon, so hopefully she'll start feeling better soon.

It still looks pretty bad and is going to leave a gnarly scar but I'm sooooo glad to have the stitches out! It's weird how it's so numb but the doc said that should hopefully resolve as it heals and the swelling goes down

So my birthday is coming up and I decided to get myself something. I found this lovely new old stock swatch on Etsy! I still have one I bought in 1989 when I was in high school, but it's in bad shape. I haven't worn a watch in about a decade and I forgot how soothing the ticking sound is.
