I mean, if you were going to go in house you might as well have cut that studio kept id the way it was and given them Halo.

I think it’s a smart move, but the usual suspects are still going to spew the same 4-5 tired talking points. These basement dwellers are so predictable and pathetic at this point that I’m able to see a piece of media and go “yup they’re going to grift about it” and how they’re going to grift.

Gave me serious PTS flashbacks with an ex of mine that was let’s say not always in the right frame of mind. Really wanted to finish that triple dipper.

Saw it yesterday. We’re only half way through the year and we still have some bangers to come out but it’s my favorite film so far. This has destined to be a cult classic all over it. Also on a personal note, the scene in the restaurant, I’ve had almost the exact same situation happen at a Chili’s.

Okay, but what is Cory Barlog working on? lol

I’m so sorry man. Dude was super young and talented. Everytime he popped up on screen I looked forward to it.

We’re about to get a bunch of really shitty new podcasts in the next few months aren’t we?

God’s editor was out for the night so the lord said “to hell with it, I’ll throw away any subtext to end the year”.

This has Dolby Vision the Criterion doesn’t. Also, there are differences with the English subtitles but they’re largely negligible.

Finally own a 4k copy of my favorite film of all time and what I consider the perfect movie. Had to import the European edition. I adore this film.

fantastic. A retelling of the story of Huckleberry Fin from the perspective of Jim, a character that over the last decade has come under a bit of scrutiny for being a stereotype in Mark Twain’s classic. We quickly learn that there is much more to him as certain scene take on a whole new meaning.

The season 3 finale of From was so great. We’re finally getting answers and while it does a t times feel like a spiritual successor to Lost this very much seems like they have a plan for everything.

Took a gander at the movies and tv deals on Amazon for Black Friday. These are terrible. There’s really very little to pick up.

I mean, we did and we didn’t lol. That transfer was terrible.

Wanted something portable since I’ll be traveling a bit for the next few weeks. Also, helps since we only have one tv in the house. Let’s see how this goes.

Silo continues to be one of the best shows on tv right now. Loved the first episode of season 2. Apple seems to really be dominating in the area of Sci-fi lately.

Oh you are in for a treat. I know it had its slow parts but it was so worth it to get to the big emotional moment.

Elantris is very good. It’s his first published book so there’s definitely a sense that it’s an author that’s still finding his voice. Pacing wise it can be a bit rough for some but I enjoyed it for what it was. Personally I’m excited for him to revisit that planet in the next few years.

Lu Rodrig @lurodrig.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

That’s what I’ve heard. It starts out kinda YA but once you hit book 2 it throws all that away.

Man you are in for a treat. I loved Mistborn era 1 and still need to read era 2. If you haven’t, I highly recommend you read Warbreaker as it ties in pretty heavily in the back half of book 3.

Been enjoying the hell out of Dragon Age the Veilguard, however the one thing that keeps taking me out is the use of modern slang and terms that contrast with the setting. Brandon Sanderson has talked about this before on how you have to be careful with fantasy and the verbiage you use.

That’s kinda been my issue with Metaphor. I’ve been enjoying it but I feel after Persona 5, Persona 3 Reload, and now this, I’m kinda burned out on the calendar thing.

Control is very good. You’ll get a lot more out of it though if you’ve played the first Alan Wake. It’s not necessary, but if you have a moment I recommend you look up at least lore stuff from the first game and try not to ruin anything from Alan Wake 2.

Started Red Rising a week ago. This thing moves like lightning. It’s almost a bit too fast in plot, but man I’m enjoying it. Did not expect some of the more cyberpunk elements in it.

So far, as someone that has the proper set up (77 inch oled with 120 HZ) the PS5 Pro is an impressive kit. That said, if you don’t have the proper set up and don’t mind the 30 fps for graphics modes on the standard PS5 I don’t see a need for you to upgrade. I’m enjoying the hell out of my Pro though

Think I’ll make this mostly about my thoughts on pop culture, what I’m reading, and some general fun stuff.
