Yep, it was in color unlike a lot of comic strips because it ran in a magazine instead of a newspaper.

this was kinda depressing to read honestly. you spend your entire life in a testtube to become a Gold Medal Olympian and you don't even get to any say in your music. Your coach picks "Sex Bomb" a song that sucks so hard its received zero airplay whatsoever since its release 10 years before your DOB

as a consequence of everyone now being functionally illiterate, buzz-phrases get invented that do a worse job explaining concepts that we already had a word for, which generates meaningless discourse at the expense of clarity.

Pogo's a really weird design (in a good way). He's supposed to be a possum but doesn't really resemble one. Or any other animal for that matter really.

🌎💫sven online💫🌍 @lungpushups.bsky.social · 16/11/2025

think it's finally time i read some Pogo.. on a side note, wasn't book design nice before the invention of big ugly barcodes?

Yeah you have to have a good sense of the big picture to stay consistent. I think having a good eye for graphic design plays into that, like I definitely notice super strong graphic design elements in Carl Barks' layouts for instance, it's a big part of what makes his comics so fun to read.

i also love the trope where animals can't talk to humans but they can understand one another, something Lucky Luke does a lot lol

Pop'n Twinbee is pretty cool! Great artstyle and music, remember it being pretty fun, but only played it at a friend's house.

of the like 5 American superhero comic books I own, two are full of DC heads. Which I guess is why they stood out when I was flipping through a dollar bin of comics.

I've got a pretty dinged up copy of this, but can't be too picky when collecting on a budget. Didn't really care much for the title story, despite being a fan favorite with a strong concept. I like the depiction of the labyrinth as well as the subtle creepiness of Scrooge's eyes turning gold though.
