BlueSky, why are you acting like "Drafts" is a useful feature? You are just another short-form platform. Posts have a 300 character limit. If you were a proper platform with long-form posting (no character limit), drafts would be very useful. One can't even convey a complete thought in a post here.

Just discovered another Facebook friend has passed away, at least this time it wasn't months after the fact, it was just a week and a half... RIP Floyd Vivino... A genuinely seriously funny and multi-talented human.

I was exposed to a lot less music in 2025 than previous years due to being a victim of the Meta ban wave. I used to get lots of info about new music, new bands, etc. from accounts I followed on Facebook... Bands, music publications, music journalists, fellow musicians, friends, etc.

[1/2] I put out an SOS to the persian cat subreddit (Reddit is like the rectum of the internet; I really don't like it there but there are *some* good people there) in the hopes that someone there was a member of the Persian Cat Health Group on Facebook.

[1/3] BlueSky is a short-form platform with annoying 300-character post limit. The easiest way around it: (A) Compose your post in Notepad or something like that; (B) copy and paste it into a new post on BlueSky;

[1/2] 2026 has been very strange so far. Still not sure if my cat is dying. I'm completely depleted in all aspects, physical, emotional. financial. This morning I finally achieved a cascade of finding people on BlueSky that I knew from FB, via rabbithole perusing people's "following" lists.

I have nothing to add, the video is self-explanatory. We need more people like this speaking out, we need it everywhere.

It's hard to see him like this. He is mostly out of it right now, but i'm sure whatever part of him that's still conscious and aware is very confused and scared. The actual cause and underlying issue are still a mystery, all the scans and tests have been inconclusive.

i got to see a complete ultrasound procedure today. its not just a few minutes and a few images, it's a long and careful process and they get tons of imagery... the cat was super calm for the whole duration, he did very well

The cat is very sick, and it's the type of thing I can't leave him alone for. It's very difficult being cut off from the cat health communities on Facebook that I was in. I wish more people/groups on FB were aware of the Meta banwave and would join MeWe and start MeWe versions of their FB groups.

A few days ago I ordered a BricksBiggsFix v.2 for my black and gold guitar to replace the tension roller on its Bigsby B7 vibrato unit. It arrived today, and was super easy to install. I'm very happy with it... Before and after pics:

the "Following" feed is not working on BlueSky at the moment from my laptop. It flashes a "There was an issue fetching posts. Tap here to try again" message a bunch of times, then changes to "TypeError: r.countGraphemes is not a function" it seems to be OK in the phone app though. WTF is happening?

The cat found this common sharp-tailed snake in the house a couple days ago. Our property has no suitable habitat, and the neighborhood has tons of stray cats, so tomorrow i'm gonna bring it to a nature preserve out in Woodland.

it wasn't as epic as the August show at the Chapel in SF, but it was still wonderful, even in a small club with around 15 people in the crowd on a Tuesday evening... Pink Breath of Heaven... definitely worth experiencing live if you get the chance...

Gina Birch was splendid last night in S.F. Even though she was short one band member due to U.S. visa fuckery, her set was very satisfying and engaging. She got a little help from Miki Berenyi and co. for a few tunes. And I got to experience three bass guitars being used simultaneously for a song.

I made an event listing on MeWe for the upcoming show... Not that anyone there will see it, but it's important for me to get in the habit of doing it for the sake of those marginalized by the Meta ban wave who can't see Facebook event listings, Instagram posts, etc. mewe.com/e/thehormone...

One of the very worst things about being a victim of the Meta ban wave is not knowing if/when any of the friends that you are cut off from have died. I just now found out that Mark passed away 5 months ago, shortly after my account was fraudulently suspended. I wonder if anyone else I knew has died.

I am confused about the Last Dinner Party's new album (From the Pyre). Supposedly there are 3 dozen additional musicians playing orchestral instruments all over it, but I can't really hear them. Maybe I hear a tiny bit of them on a couple songs. Why is this? Bad compression during digital mastering?

One of the horrible things about being a victim of the Meta ban wave is not seeing posts about important upcoming events. This event is something I try to attend every year. Fortunately I suddenly remembered about it a few days ago and looked it up online and found out it hadn't happened yet.

So my cat's tail tip injury was so profound that the tip had already died and was largely self-amputated already. The doctor basically finished the job, cleaned him up, sewed the end closed, and sent him home. He's had injectable antibiotic and analgesic, and seems to be doing OK so far.

my cat is at the catdoctor today, he had suffered some sort of mysterious injury to the tip of his tail recently, and he's getting it conservatively treated today (because I can't afford the more expensive route of proper tail tip amputation). It's like a difference between $200 and roughly $1500.

Where are all the time travellers from 3025?? Isn't it obvious? No need for an 11 page scientific paper. If we omit the top reason from consideration (that travelling back in time is simply an absurdity/impossibility), the answer is... [see comment]

just noticed on mewe.com that they added an event listing feature at some point(!!!) Their phone app still sucks, but so did Facebook's phone app. You can always use a browser app on the phone instead. And MeWe is far superior to FB in a phone browser (serious e.g., ZERO A.I. BOTSLOP).

When it happens to one of them, they take notice and it becomes a newsworthy story. When it happens to thousands or millions of regular, non-media-figure, non-celebrity humans, myself included, it gets largely ignored.
