Look there are some of us who love Mark Gatiss’ thing and where he goes we follow and therefore I so throughly enjoyed #Bookish - an escapist delight, cosy English mystery series with a soupçon of seriousness, history, pathos and LGBTQ+ content. This is what he does best. #MarkGatiss #TV #TVsky

Bookish review – Mark Gatiss’s cosy crime drama is a tasty nugget of absolute delight

This beautifully paced, meticulously worked postwar detective series is hugely moreish. Its tales of bookseller-cum-semi-Sherlock are a TV joy

I’ve discovered a new food! Paraguayan sopa. A light cormbread baked with cheese & onions, and in my case filled with a layer of ground beef. Very good, hearty, and nicely spiced but not over-spiced. There’s more filling than it looks like!

J.K. Rowling said asexual people don’t face discrimination. She couldn’t be more wrong. My article for @lgbtqnation.com is out now! I discuss all the various ways that asexual people face discrimination and violence, like corrective rape and conversion therapy. www.lgbtqnation.com/2025/04/jk-r...

Asexual people are face the violence of forced cures as well as the mockery of people like Rowling.

I suppose it’s time for me to try & make bsky work for me again. For my mental health I’m trying to avoid the deluge of MAGA & the shit-show of the current US govt. I’d be thrilled to never see any of it again. So if you only/mostly post about those things I’ll not be responding.

Some asexual people have sex. Some don’t. Asexuality generally refers to experiencing low/no sexual attraction. Asexual ≠ doesn’t have sex. People of all sexualities have sex for various reasons beyond “I am experiencing sexual attraction right now.”

If you’ve ever wondered why I tend to leave the word ‘I’ off the beginning of a sentence, or occasionally leave out a word here & there, it’s a product of 47 years of reading medical chart notes and doctors’ notes, which are relevant info only, no unneeded words need apply. I cannot break the habit.

Why have so few corporations & businesses incl those heavy into social media joined Bsky & treat it just like they did Twitter? BBC isn’t here officially,. It’s def not B-cos they love Musk’s 💩iness. The Guardian just publicly left Twitter. I wish more entities & people i’ve enjoyed following would.

I’m so getting vibes of Caligula making his horse a Roman consul to shock The People and demonstrate his power and control. Not a good look, but 1000% predctable.

After much searching I think I’ve gotten my answer at last. Have always wondered if I was mildly autistic but things didn’t really match up. I appear to have relatively mild Sensory Processing Disorder, which is common among neurodivergent people but which you can have and *not* be autistic.

Like many, I joined Bluesky 🐝cuz of Twitter & the cesspit it has become. Joined but wasn’t strongly motivated to participate. But as formerly safe-ish spaces no longer are & I no longer get any enjoyment from them, here I am again, trying to make it work this time. Still trying to figure things out.

Ton of revealing new details in this, including that the number of people actively tweeting has dropped by more than 30%: "Elon Musk’s version of free speech was for him and his friends to be able to do hate speech without getting in trouble" www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

A year later, Musk’s X is tilting right. And sinking.

The billionaire bought Twitter to revive its business and make it less “woke.” He has achieved only one of those goals.

1st post here, just arrived as a Twatter refugee. Primary interests are British & Irish TV & films, the UK entertainment industry, UK current events, being an LGBTQ ally, animals (cats especially but all animals), photography, learning about other cultures. Not super-political, but have my causes.
