Part of me is pleased that Catalan spelling is, for the most part, phonemic (as phonemic as the spelling of a Romance language can get) but if a unified spelling system shared with Occitan were to be created, I honestly think I’d never complain about anything again in my life 🥹

It may be a hot take, but am I the only one who isn’t bothered by the narrow failure of the ‘Pyrénées-Catalanes’ rename proposal? It’s a 🇫🇷 administrative division, and non-Catalan French were allowed to vote, it’s no surprise. But the historic local names will always be Catalan
