Aww yiss! Limine added mouse support in the bootloader. Given that my keyboard doesn't get detected in the BIOS every other BIOS update, this has removed a huge barrier to my #Linux switch (having to dig out a PS/2 keyboard). I wonder if SteamVR + nVidia works yet? That's the only blocker now!

I will never knowingly stream a game that uses GenAI/LLM content. I've been offered review copies of such games on two occasions and rejected both of them I do not knowingly use GenAI in my workflow I am, however, bad at spotting undisclosed AI. If I fuck up, please point it out and I'll get rid!

FollowCam 0.9 is out and (I think) finally fixes the remaining stutter issues. VNyan 1.7.2 is required. If you use it with VRnyan you need 2.3-rc9, which is also out. rc9 also has a -gui variant to try. It uses the new #VNyan 1.7.2 UI framework Test on Weds, but I think we're close! #VTuberTech

It turns out the #CSharp Queue<T> class still uses a ton of memory when you put lots of things in one end and read them at a matching rate at the other end, despite being explicitly stated to be a FIFO! Is there /any/ sane way that I can continually buffer data for a short time without ballooning?

I thoroughly enjoyed #Peripetia (except for level 4). It seems like there's lots of alternate routes with different plot attached (and apparently a sword on level 1 I was supposed to have), so not sure if I should do a replay of it next week, or wait until it gets a big update?

So the stutter seen last night wasn't FollowCam. VNyan had dropped to 40fps. Restarting it didn't help, the other version of VNyan (without FollowCam) was also affected immediately on start. Restarting SteamVR fixed it. I think FollowCam is fine, the memory issue is fixed. RC coming soon!

My method for comms between #VNyan plugins works well, but feels wrong. Any #CSharp experts want to tell me the correct way? The idea is to avoid reflection at runtime by having a function that returns a ref to the actual function which we then assign to a public function that is otherwise a dummy

Followcam 0.6-beta and VRnyan 2.3-RC6 update With this I think they're good for people to try out! Redid comms and removed all use of Reflection at runtime = better performance Replaced Unity InvokeRepeating with an actually reliable high res timer = much smoother #VNyan #VTuberTech #VTuber

TIL that on Windows 8-11 #CSharp DateTime.UtcNow only has a precision of 15ms (roughly 60fps). On Windows 7 it was 1ms I wasted hours blaming MonoBehaviour.InvokeRepeating() for bad precision at high FPS, and the whole time it was fine, I just couldn't detect the delta correctly I hate Microsoft!

So it turned out that using delegates produced more stutter than method?.Invoke, which surprised me. I think I need to make the followcam (and maybe VRnyan) run at a fixed framerate, maybe something silly like 120fps and only have the main camera override part run in LateUpdate()

Released v0.2-beta of my #VNyan followcam. This brings a new "static" option to make a particular axis ignore VTuber bone positions and be hardcoded. It also brings fixes to the lookat target calculation so that this actually behaves as you would expect! #VTuberTech #VTuber #ENVTuber #VTuberEN
