Who're you talking to, James? All the Republican voters on this platform?

Yeah, because the people you're fellating will never give it to you, and instead of getting rid of them in favor of people who will fight for it, you're like, "okay cool". You sold your dignity to these people for the privilege of paying thousands more to have a middleman deny you healthcare.

lumidingo.bsky.social @lumidingo.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
Like, imagine having the opportunity to get free healthcare, and going "nah, I'd rather pay someone thousands to tell me I'm not allowed healthcare". Clown shit for rubes.

lumidingo.bsky.social @lumidingo.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
Actually, one was healthcare and the other one was denied healthcare, and you ignored the former while ignoring the bit in the latter where the insurance company that you pay thousands to, denies you healthcare. It's literally the exact wrong choice. It's the choice only an idiot would make.

If you could have free healthcare or health insurance that you have to pay thousands for and denies your healthcare claims, which would you pick?

If you could have healthcare without needing insurance, why would you need insurance?

If the Dems are selling out their own electoral chances in order to adopt anti-trans positions, then they _want_ to lose the election. If you expect trans people to save you at the cost of their own lives and futures, then you are risking your own life and future in order to hurt trans people.

"The public simply cannot be trusted to understand the nuances of fascism" I don't particularly care about your opinion. You tell the truth because it's the truth. An ethnonationalist project is by definition a racist one. The demonstration of the truth is the genocide.

Is that the "most people" you were referring to, then? Will they know who you meant?

Ah, best to keep all knowledge of it from view then, lest the people who know nothing learn something. Can't have that!

I don't think it's necessarily wrong, more that it reflects a moment in time. I don't doubt that Rowling was radicalised. Precisely by who, precisely when, isn't particularly important, but it does serve to show what that kind of void of principles tends to end up serving on a long enough timeframe.

Maybe in an ideal system a rapist would be transparent about the sexual assault they committed and let people come to their own conclusions about that. It's a shame no one got that opportunity here. That might even explain why this is evoking such revulsion from so many people.
000
lumidingo.bsky.social @lumidingo.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
You can forgive a rapist whenever you want. No one's obliged to join you in that. Maybe there isn't an ideal system of restorative justice in a world where rapists can go to ground for a decade and grow an audience while omitting the sexual assaults they committed in their past.

Do not feel sorry for this man.
His most recent drama, Tip Toe, about a simmering feud between neighbours on opposite ends of the political divide that boils into a horrific act of violence, upset some viewers by including a gender-critical character, Stephanie. What inspired her? “I think it’s important to hear all voices. Years and Years and It’s a Sin both had lead gay characters who were Tory voters – if you watch most dramas you’d think those people don’t exist. I know people who are gender critical. The whole argument is so polarised that to some people the fact that she’s gender critical means she might as well be a murderer, which is just nonsense. There are people with genuine concerns, and they need to be discussed. Where is the debate?”

You're talking about making the Republican party irrelevant, buddy. That's not a short-term goal. One of them's in the White House. Six of them are on the Supreme Court.
000
lumidingo.bsky.social @lumidingo.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
A centrist Dem now, is a Republican in the future, because they simply will not act to change anything. You're talking about timeframes in which the need to act on climate change is imperative, and then proposing supporting do-nothing candidates. You're at odds with your own argument.
000
lumidingo.bsky.social @lumidingo.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
You didn't explain anything. You proposed a hypothetical paradigm in which it's somehow more beneficial to vote for candidates who will not get you the policy outcomes you want and need, over the candidates who will. The change will not come if you keep uplifting the candidates who will not change.
100
lumidingo.bsky.social @lumidingo.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
I'm not sure you can rationalize how "exposing" the cruelty of centrist Dems is best achieved by elevating them to office over progressive candidates. We know the capitalist class will financially back candidates who are pro-capitalist. That's exposure enough.
100
lumidingo.bsky.social @lumidingo.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
How is voting for progressive candidates "letting the fascists maintain power"? The centrist candidates are the cohort that won't commit to policies like abolishing ICE. Multiple centrist Dems have said they won't pursue impeachment or packing the court. That allows the fascists to maintain power.

lumidingo.bsky.social @lumidingo.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
And frankly they will just remold themselves to fit the available space. They don't have principles. I genuinely think this talk about "strategic voting" is cut from the same cloth as the neoliberals you're gassing up. You're presenting willful cruelty as pragmatic, with no apparent justification.
000
lumidingo.bsky.social @lumidingo.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
It's not so much a plan. I just don't think you should vote for neoliberals if you don't want your future to be packaged up and rented back to you by neoliberals. If you want progressive candidates you should be unwavering in that. It's delusional to think they'll let go once they're in.
200
lumidingo.bsky.social @lumidingo.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
It sounds like you're proposing that voters abandon or deprioritize the protection of trans rights until the Republican party ceases to exist as a political force, and _then_, having ignored anti-trans sentiment in candidates for however long that takes, progressives can start accounting for it.

There was a different vision of the future, it started 28 years ago. Note that these reactionaries never stopped pushing back against the new status quo. They're not interested in coming to different conclusions. They've had thirty years to demonstrate otherwise.
