I find it likely that the new Ukrainian law canceling the independence of the corruption investigations was forced upon Ukraine by Trump et al. Either Trump wants to help in a deal that includes something seen as corruption by the UA laws; or it is a method to remove Zelensky, abolish Ukraine.

Trump doesn't get some totally basic things about trade. 1. Trade is consensual, qualitatively good for both sides. Producers sell X because they make and have too much of it, prefer to have money. Buyers buy X because they have enough money but want X more than the money. Neither side is a victim.
