I'm a writer on the zine, a Message from Nightopia! Honestly it was such an honor to work on this, and so much fun too. Please, come read my short about William Shakespeare, NiGHTS inspiring the arts, and missing old friends when your an ancient dream being! @nightszine.bsky.social

“Well, this is a play by one William Shakespeare!” Owl replied cheerfully. “It’s called Much Ado About Romeo and Hamlet’s Twelfth Midsummer Night!”
Helen tilted her head in confusion and furrowed her brow slightly in focus. “I’m not sure I’ve heard of that one,” she said in an uncertain tone, shuffling her feet on the cobbled road of the Dream Gate beneath her.
“Yes, well…” Owl began, looking a little disappointed. “It’s perhaps not completely the same as what you may know from your world… While William Shakespeare himself was also a Visitor, I have had to piece together his plays myself from other Visitor’s accounts.” He looked wistfully into the distance, “I’m so proud of him to be remembered so many lifetimes beyond his time here.”
This intrigued Helen. “Shakespeare was a Visitor?” She asked excitedly, “That’s amazing!”

oh man, this is really cute, thank you for offering such a thing! I'd love my little guy Altymon if possible!

a little, mascot-like green digimon, with big ears, stubby antlers, a holy ring, a red scarf under his holy ring, and a lion-like tail.

Forgive me for shilling a bit, but I write a youth novel series called Other London! it's about a girl who becomes a wizard's apprentice in a version of Earth where magic and other worlds are known. It's inspired by shonen anime and growing up in the most medicore city in southern Ontario!

the cover for Other London volume 2, featuring protagonist Ella in a dramatic spellcasting pose and other characetrs Ary, Zach, and Magpie reflected around her. I can't seem to find the file for Volume 1's cover at the moment so this will have to do.

010

Lumen Quill, Magical Author @lumenquill.com · 18/03/2026

I have some art of their original designs, but its pretty bad lol Zach being a digital entity in the original version inspired him being a technomancer mage who jumps into computers in the current one. Ary was always a portal guy, though.

an early design of Zach from Other London. hes got a pixelated arm???

an early design of Ary from Other London. he looks much older.

Lumen Quill, Magical Author @lumenquill.com · 18/03/2026

Zach and Ary probably changed the most of the core OL cast. Initially, Zach was a digital backup of Ary's mind when he was a teenager and Ary was an adult. Now they're two teens who suspiciously look alike for reasons that are revealed in Volume 2. Ary was always one of Gemini's messengers, tho.

this is that "Nine games that made you who you are" trend, I suppose. Info about my history with each game in the alt text. Honorable mention to the entire Zelda series. my9games.com

Hatoful Boyfriend - an obsession during a dark time in my life, I have honestly never loved an anime boy as much as Anghel Higure more or since. also its sequel, Holiday Star, is also a big deal to me.

Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak - One of my childhood favourites. Spat and Harmony are among my favourite Hamtaro characters to this day.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Digimon is really important to me, and I grew up with dawn/dusk, but Cyber Sleuth and its characters felt like a weird echo of people and circumstances I knew in the fandom as a teenager. it was both cathartic and a very entertaining time. bonus points for being an influence on Other London!

Digimon World Redigitize Decode - another digimon one. this one and its predecessor also came to me at a dark time and helped me leave a borderline cult-like situation. also the origin of me calling at least one of my digimon partners "Puff the Magic Agumon."

Super Paper Mario - the big one. words cannot describe how much this game has affected and shaped me. it sits in the middle as a testament to its worth.

Earthbound/Mother 2 - the first fandom I spent a lot of time in! the early 2010s/late aughts were wild. also an influence on Other London, and one of my first exposures to Urban Fantasy as a genre, if you wanna count it as that.

Pokemon Platinum - standing in for the whole series, but platinum is my favourite. most people seem to want to deck Ghestsis but tbh I really want to deck Cyrus.

Adventure Quest Worlds - Also standing in for the whole series of Artix Entertainment games. AQ is probably one of my favourite things and it never stops being meaningful to me and I also never stop finding bits and bobs of ideas from it in my writing. Its also basically the epitome of "good cheesy fun."

Super Smash Bros Brawl - the series that introduced me to fanfiction as a concept! shout out to Subspace Emissary's World Conquest. it was actuall really important to me as a kid.

Actually come to think of it theres also an eye themed digimon that possesses other digimon but has no form of its own for Illia, Shademon. presumably Araceli would have the sword guy that gives Fenriloogamon the sword... Hello hi giving characters digimon is a hobby of mine I am sorry lol

Forever ago I drew this parody of it, featuring Hatsune Miku herself. I'm still proud of this joke haha

A sketch of Miku shrugging while holding a smoking pipe, winking at the viewer. the caption above her reads "Ce n'est pas Miku" which if I did not screw up the french means "This is not Miku," in reference to the famous painting The Treachery of Images by by Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte. The point of the original painting is that the painting is not a pipe, its a painting of a pipe. thus this sketch is not Miku, its a drawing of Miku. However, Miku only exists in art, so...
