Even if Venezuelans are angered about seeing their country invaded, many are relieved that Maduro has been removed. I hope Trump doesn't think Mexico would react the same way. Nearly every Mexican would be outraged, and tens of millions would be ready to fight.

If the government was really serious about tackling crime, they would go to rural towns in red counties. I grew up in a small republican town, and holy shit the crime is bad. Drugs and abuse are rife and underreported, but also the town leaders and politicians are all corrupt and connected.

I appreciate immigrants and I think we could use more. For people who want fewer of them, let me tell you that nearly every immigrant I've ever met has been here working for a republican. Since republican employers are the reason most immigrants are here, you'd expect at least some appreciation.

I subscribe to a number of non-political youtube channels (fishing/homesteading etc) that attract a largely maga audience. The past week I saw a big uptick in comments critical of "the current government," so I knew he was going to get us into war. It's the go-to move when support crumbles.

The case of Juan Carlos Lopez-Gomez, the Georgia man illegally detained by ICE, highlights the issues of language diversity among multicultural citizens. His 1st language is Tzotzil, 2nd is Spanish, and 3rd is English. Not every U.S.-born citizen speaks perfect English, but that's not a crime.

I think we need to be honest with ourselves and admit that the world has lost trust in us not just because of trump, but because over half the country allowed it to happen (by voting for him or not voting at all). Even after trump is gone, the erosion of trust will remain.
