Good news for North Corner and Cornwall Beach! The MOD has now confirmed ownership of the site and agreed to remove the derelict boats that have blighted North Corner and Cornwall Beach, as well as repair the damaged steps leading down to the beach.

Standard maritime safety procedures were followed: prior to firing, the Russian ship notified HMS Tyne of its intention and requested that she reposition to a safe distance, which HMS Tyne did. The exercise lasted 30 minutes.

Yesterday was another incredible day for Plymouth funding announcements. In my Ministerial role, I was proud to be able to announce a huge investment into upgrading our naval bases- and that includes £7.1 billion for HMNB Devonport. For context, that is £7,100,000,000!
