Interesting to hear the news about the former Mill Road Library www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... Here's what it looked like when it opened in 1896 and in 1980.
The main entrance of Mill Road Library with a man walking by on Mill Road. An engraving of the library on opening. There is a man with a top hat admiring the frontage.

That moment when you're on the Underground and find yourself completely alone down a silent tunnel that, without a doubt, must be haunted.
An passenger tunnel on the Underground, that has tiled walls.

Saw this on the Tube this morning. Today marks 40 years of Poems on the Underground. You can see the archive @theul.bsky.social.
Poems on the Underground poster showing the following text:
Epitaph on a Tyrant
W. H. Auden

Perfection, of a kind, was what he was after,
And the poetry he invented was easy to understand;
He knew human folly like the back of his hand,
And was greatly interested in armies and fleets;
When he laughed, respectable senators burst with laughter,
And when he cried the little children died in the streets.

David Cozens, in his book "Huntingdon A Pictorial History" believed the family may have lived in Hartford Road, Huntingdon. Doc ref HA WH2/70

I still remember my mum buying me a stack of Transformer comics in a jumble sale back in the 80s. It was a slippery slope from there, ending in the literary canon and librarianship (and the occasional TF comic).
