Per @christopherjm.ft.com (on the other site). I hope this is a case of miscommunication because it would be very poor indeed for Trump to play such reckless games with people's lives.

Obviously, this would be a good development, but an agreement that involves the honesty of Putin and Trump ...

Excellent cover from @theeconomist this week. Particularly good in that it busts the myth of France's troubles being all down to a political left, rather than a political culture. www.economist.com/leaders/2026...

Hard to say without seeing details etc etc but if this is how the Tories are is framing it, it’s pretty silly. Britain could not replicate iron dome and it wouldn’t address a lot of problems (that can otherwise be addressed through allied approach).

While it may not be to everyone's taste, sincerely very impressive that @thenewworldmag.bsky.social is 10 years old with 500 issues under its belt. Launching a print weekly in 2016 must have sounded completely insane. Congrats to the whole team.

These two paragraphs are so depressing. 1) America takes Putin’s BS seriously 2) restarts circus of trilateral talks that Putin is too cowardly for - which they know 3) acknowledges what Russia will do this winter These people (Witkoff/Kushner) are not serious people.

Ignoring the absolute nonsense about Trump wanting a win-win because of his background in business (maybe ask some of his former contractors), it is simply outrageous for the US admin to give any legitimacy to his "aspirations"

Once again, Trump administration sets up a scenario where Ukraine has to be reactive and can be spun as the obstruction to peace. These people will not be remembered fondly by history.

One thing that is genuinely very impressive about Reform is how well they handle their media outriders. All talking points always hit, while the outriders are able to maintain a distance and claim that no one tells them what to say.

This might be the most revealing comment Trump has ever made. Thought they’d give up, impressed they haven’t, gives them credit. So little thought about starting a war or the consequences

cc @aepodcast.bsky.social love how one of the most innovative and anti-authority moments in WWE history is now this. Not sure what is worse, it existing or Cole ending the advert with "pick up the mic, before it's too late"

What social media has done to Britain is really scary at the moment. Ant Middleton is offering a “special forces” training course where if you pass you get to join some secret club he’s forming. Here is a comment that is quite typical of other comments below the post

I find this sort of shtick incredibly odd. Really not sure how much more they want – we are outside Single Market and Customs Union. Anything else would be incredibly experimental and given where country is probably too big a risk to take.
