My assumption is simple: It has less of a shock factor. It is absurdly less surprising to have left wingers win big cities big time than it is for a Neo-Nazi party to win anywhere in Germany of all places. One makes for pattern pointing and the other is a main story.

Hot take: The iPhone 14 (yes, the base model) camera takes prettier photos than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The photo blur of the iPhone 14 made the photo itself look real and honest (if that even makes sense), but now that it takes photos almost perfectly almost all the time, it looks fake and editet.
