Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 05/07/2026I was wondering how they'd handle Naddy in English and I Am Not Dissappointed 122
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 26/03/202621) Thomas & Friends: Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure - This special makes a good companion piece to The Adventure begins, it's got a lot of fanservice and callbacks but also a very strong character arc for Thomas. I can see why it's viewed as the fandom consensus best special. 011
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 25/03/202620) Sir Handel IN LIVE ACTION! - Adaptations are common in the Thomas fandom but adapting a story with the actual trains who inspired it in the first place is a whole other level of beast. I love everything, from the animation on the faces, to the wonderfully over-the-top performances by the actors. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 25/03/202619) Thomas & Friends: The Adventure Begins - This is pre fanservice but I am the fan being serviced so idc. As a fan of the classic series it's impossible not to have a big goofy grin on your face while watching this. They did a good job threading Thomas' arc throughout and he's just so adorable. 100
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 21/03/202618) Thomas & Friends: Season 18 - If season 17 was a transition towards the show's renaissance, then season 18 is where it comes into full force. The show has morphed into the best version of itself since the classic days, with a great mix of character work and fun, railway-inspired, plots. 100
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 21/03/202617) AEW Revolution (2026) - Every year after the NFL season ends Tony Khan locks tf in and AEW gets really hot so Revolution is always a banger and this year is no exception. Nearly everything on this show is good to great but my one complaint is the result of the main. idk if it's the right choice. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 15/03/202616) Miraculous World: Tokyo, Stellar Force - Animation hard carry, this special looks pretty enough to overlook how often it just feels like a collection of cliché Japan references, like a 50 minute long Akira slide. Plus the romance focus is something the show's always struggled with. 101
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 15/03/202615) Miraculous World: London, At the Edge of Time - Now this is a satisfying special, providing extra context for the season 5 finale and giving it the emotional weight that the series so often lacks. (Granted it would've been nice if some of this stuff had been covered at the time but whatever) 101
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 15/03/202614) Miraculous World: Paris, Tales of Shadybug and Claw Noir - I haven't watched this series since season 5 ended. and I decided to dip my toes back in. This special is alright, nothing groundbreaking but it doesn't have any of the series more irritating tendencies. 100
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 05/03/202613) Thomas & Friends: Tale of the Brave - This was the special that first made me realise the show was in a renaissance and it still holds up, with a much stronger central conflict than the last special and better at tying all it's new characters into it. Also it's got Marion and she's the best. 111
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 05/03/202612) Thomas & Friends Series 17 - A bit of a lowkey start to the Brenner era. It definitely feels like it still has one foot in the previous formula but on the whole a decent selection of episodes. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 04/03/202611) A Bug's Life - So, unlike the 2 previous Pixar movies, this is actually my first time watching this movie as an adult and it was just okay. It feels quite full of cliches like the quirky outcast inventor lead or the liar revealed story. But I do like it's lesson about collective action. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 04/03/202610) The Incredibles - I think this might be the perfect kids movie. It's got lots of action, humour , and heart for the kids but also a great story about a midlife crisis that adults can appreciate plus such a tight script where everything is set p and paid off in such a satisfying way. 100
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 04/03/20269) Cars - It's wild to think that Pixar's standards were once so high that this was considered the black sheep, because it's still a great movie. A love letter to both NASCAR and general Americana, it's far from the cynical cash-grab it's often painted as. 100
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 04/03/20268) Sonic The Hedgehog 3 - There are problems with the Sonic movies, their humour is a bit too "generic modern kids movie" for my taste and it's themes are incredibly unsubtle (though again, kids movie) but there's an earnestness here that I really appreciate, particularly with how Shadow's handled. 100
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 04/03/20267) The Shining (audio) - It's a classic for a reason. Possibly King's best se of mounting dread and tension through his writing, and some of his best character work. It's heartbreaking watching the Torrence family start in a good place and then slowly fall apart due to the hotel's influence. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 04/03/20266) The Naked Gun (2025) - The phrase "Seth McFarlane-produced Naked Gun legacy sequel" is not one that inspires a lot of confidence but somehow it works. Liam Neeson was the absolute perfect choice for the lead . 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 04/03/20265) Salem's Lot (audio) - In terms of vampire lore, this story is hardly reinventing the wheel, it's basically a modern day Dracula but it's really good at that. It also has such a vivid description of a small town that's slowly dying even before the vampires show up. 100
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 01/02/2026this 100 GFs panel has serious reaction image potential 032
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 13/01/20264) Wrestle Kingdom 20 - Gonna put major wrestling shows on this year. New Japan might be back? They had a lot of eyes on them with Tana's retirement and they knocked it out of the park. Wolf's debut was a triumph, the world title match delivered and the main event was a religious experience. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 13/01/20263) Thomas & Friends: King of The Railway - I'm of 2 minds about this. A lot of the new stuff introduced is really fun and it's cool how much it draws from both real life and Sodor history, but introducind that stuff does kind of get in the way of having a plot which doesn't kick in until quite late. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 13/01/20262. Thomas & Friends: Blue Mountain Mystery - Yeah I'm on a bit of a nostalgia kick so I decided to rewatch the show's "renaissance" period which imo started here. There's still a bit of clunky dialogue like the previous seasons but the mystery and character motivations here are genuinely well done. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 13/01/20261) Thomas & Friends: Marvellous Machinery - I watched this special mostly out of curiosity having fallen off the show in it's last few seasons and I can easily see why. Believe it or not the show used to have a sense of grounded reality about it that's completely gone by this point. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 05/01/2026I fortunately managed to kick my gacha habit before ZZZ could get it's hooks into me but a maid shark girl is kinda tempting ngl 010
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 03/01/2026idk I guess she's like a clown girl or something. I genuinely have no clue what this show is even about. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 03/01/2026So I know a bit about the main characters in Black Butler via osmosis but occasionally someone'll mention a character called Undertaker and I always get flashbanged because I keep picturing the professional wrestler Mark Calloway being a part of this yaoibait anime set in Victorian England. 120
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 03/01/2026I could basically just put any Homestuck character here because I never got into it despite being the right age and level of online during it's peak and it's so weird and confusing that it's hard to absorb any significant information about it second hand because none of it seems to make sense. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 03/01/2026My direct exposure to Hazbin Hotel consists of watching the pilot when it first came out and the "Addicted" music video and this guy is in neither of them so idk anything about him. 120
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 03/01/2026I know they're Kpop idols who fight demons, (duh) but idk any of their individual character traits. I've seen some great porn of them though so maybe I'll watch the movie for that reason. 120
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 03/01/2026So I know a bit about Frieren herself from the memes and The Discourse™️but I have no idea what Fern's deal is. I'm gessing she's the POV character who's perspective we see Frieren through. She also tends to get drawn quite Thicc in fanart but idk if that's just people being horny (no judgement.) 220
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 29/12/202579) The War Between The Land and The Sea - Shockingly competent given the low standards of RTD2 who but nothing particularly new when it comes to Sea Devil stories. Good performances ll around though, with Gemma Redgrave and Russell Tovey as standouts. 000
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 27/12/202578) Spy X Family: Season 3 - This season does a great job at fleshing out the world and adding depth to the characters. Loid's backstory, the introduction of Melinda, the Red circus. They all hit and make the series that much richer. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 22/12/202576) Five Nights at Freddy's 2 - I've never seen a movie more in need of an actual professional writer to come and punch it up. Nobody talks or acts like a real person and it's so obsessed with cramming stuff from the games in it gets in the way of telling a coherent story. 120
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 22/12/202575) Zootopia 2 - Like the first movie, it's a good introduction to certain social justice concepts in a way children can grasp, in this case how urban planning can intersect with race. The plot and mystery are fairly predictable which isn't much of an issue for a kids film. 120
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 16/12/202574) Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery - Another great mystery full of twists and turns but with a genuine dialogue about religion. Not pulling it's punches in showing the absolute worst it can bring out in people. but still demonstrating it's ability to inspire goodness. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 16/12/202573) Transformers Earthspark: Season 4 - A lame duck ending full of half-baked character arcs that result in everyone being stupid and annoying throughout most of it. It feels like some of it's ideas could've worked in a full season but as is, I don't know why they even bothered. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 24/11/202572) Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc (sub) - I think this arc works as a movie quite well and it does a great job selling the relationship between Reze and Denji (better than the manga from what I've heard) and even though I liked season 1 I do think the animation is a step up. 120
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 18/11/202571) My Dress-Up Darling (dub) - FUCK this is just really adorable. The only thing close to an issue is that romcom frustration where you know they're both so in love and you wish you could reach into the screen and yell "JUST KISS ALREADY YOU IDIOTS!" 120
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 14/11/202570) Sodor Reading Between the Lines: 20th Anniversary edition - It's good to see there's still life in the series yet, and Christopher Awdry's passion shines through. One can only hope this book's success will lead to renewed interest from the publishers, but if not, it's still nice to have. 110
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 12/11/202569(nice) Digital Monster X-Evolution - I was hoping this would explain the whole X-antibody thing and while it sort of does it's in that "these characters already know what's going on and you have to pick it up as you go along" way, which has it's pros and cons. 120
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 12/11/202568) Chainsaw Man (dub) - Yeah it's peak. Funny, horrifying, and sexual in a weird offbeat way that really resonates with me. I know some of the stylistic choices for the adaptation were controversial but I enjoyed it as is. 120
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 09/11/202567) Digimon Frontier (sub) - I don't have a problem with the humans becoming Digimon premise but the series does have issues regarding pacing, character, and messaging, that tend to get worse as it goes. There's some bright spots but it's definitely the weakest series so far. 100
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 04/11/202566) Digimon Frontier: Revival of Ornismon (sub) - I appreciate this movie trying to do a "war is bad" story but the visual of the dead Digimon popping into colourful eggs, while lore accurate, kinda robs the concept of any actual weight. 100
Luka Hellstar @lukahellstar.bsky.social · 01/11/202565) Spy x Family Season 2 (dub) - The cruise ship arc is the series at it's best so far, with really compelling tension, action, and drama, the episodes around it are good too, (particularly the Damian one) but that arc is the star os the show. 110
