Striking thing is the lack of increase in GPs and Practice Nurses (the core clinical staff) whereas other groups (Pharmacy, Physio, ACPs etc) have gone up dramatically at their expense

Our GP dashboard provides a picture of the current health of general practice in England. The latest update shows that direct patient care staff numbers have risen and are now at their highest since 2019, while GP and nurse roles have seen little growth. Explore more ⬇️ bit.ly/4vhmpLF

Shifting care from hospitals to the community is a core part of the government’s 10-Year Health Plan. @ninahemmings.bsky.social and @luisaptg.bsky.social examine whether the new Neighbourhood Health Framework will help realise this ambition, and assess the potential risks⬇️ bit.ly/4u1ehhp

The GP contract for 2026/27 is neither wholesale renegotiation nor transformative shift. @luisaptg.bsky.social and @ninahemmings.bsky.social argue that while there are signs of incremental change, it falls short of what is needed to realise the ambitions of the 10-Year Health Plan⬇️ bit.ly/4rHm2Z6

Responding to government's new GP contract, @luisaptg.bsky.social says, while it includes welcome commitments, it does not represent the shift in resources needed to deliver 10-Year Health Plan or address challenges around access and continuity of care. Full response ⬇️ bit.ly/4tYmwM0
