That and getting capital influence out of media and politics. Democracy is just not possible in a system where almost all news is controlled by like 5 people.

The problem is that at this point the american education and media environment has degraded to the point where democracy is not possible. As for reconnecting with allies? Buddy I dont think thats coming back. We have earned our pariah state status.

Zelensky needs to target every single one of these tankers. We should not get even a single drop of diesel for this betrayal

Whoa expecting the democrats to do more than the absolute minimum? What are you a crazy DSA type?

This is I think a strong sign of the change within the dnc that obama, a man who very much cares about his legacy, is throwing his weight specifically in favor of further left leaning candidates

And who currently runs the FCC?

You have to pretend that that was the only problem with kamala to avoid confronting the glaring idealogical failings of the DNC.

Oh at that point its just going to be passing debt or other non liquid assets around between themselves instead of actual money moving hands or products being produced

Its socialism or barbarism. Unfortunately all of american society for roughly thr last century has been dedicated to making sure its not socialism

Good news, they also want that gone so they can pay you even less.

Imagine being more concerned with allowing an ethic supremicist state in the middle east to keep a genocide going than you are with improving your own nation alive.

Ah but that would be communism which I have been informed by some highly reputable privately owned news companies is a thing that is very scary and bad. Surely they are an unbiased source on this.

The logic does not fold into itself, making poverty inescapable was always the point. The last thing they want is for you to be comfortable enough to think about asking for more.

Ha if only anyone who makes it to higher office would ever actually do that. These companies paid good money to make sure nobody who would actually threaten their profits gets in.

Yes Im aware, and its one of the better decisions Biden made to just pull out instead of trying to do something like the surge under Obama and keep the forever war going.

We dont want the bipartisan plan anyway, we want the Democrat plan with no republican input.

Dude what the fuck are you talking about? There were like, 5 actual bernie or busters, the left turned out for that election. Look to the feckless center to find the groups that made Hillary lose.

Ah yes the moral option of continue the 20 year military occupation. Just keep those soldiers in the poppy fields, keep drone striking weddings. The drugs and MIC money must flow.
100
The Ludroth @ludroth.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Which part was the tragedy to you? Invading and subjecting the people of Afghanistan to 20 years of military occupation, a terror campaign of drone strikes and blackwater mercs, or leaving the nation after it was clear we had failed to be taken by an extremist group we legitimized in our conduct?

The forever war (wokely).

would you rather we had stayed in Afghanistan?

Obama predates the ceding of immigration. this particular change, ceding the immigration position to the right, is very much a Trump Era development, even more specifically, the change happened most under the Biden admin
000
The Ludroth @ludroth.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Blame Biden? Actually going through with pulling out of Afghanistan and not finding an excuse to not do it was one of the better things Biden did with the presidency.
200
The Ludroth @ludroth.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
No it isnt? The fact that you think what the Democrats do is selling the concept of open borders when it is, at best, a slightly less hitlerian version of the GOP position really shows just how dire the situation is.

The Ludroth @ludroth.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Yes but that's also in line with the general rightward political shift of the last decade or so among them.
000
The Ludroth @ludroth.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
See this is what I mean. Most Americans don't support it because it is never sold to them. All framing around the subject has been ceded to the right wing position.
100
The Ludroth @ludroth.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Heck you even see this with things like immigration. The issue is ICE going too far, being excessively cruel in the execution of their duties. But the underlying logic that defines those duties, our thinking regarding undocumented immigrats, is bipartisan, we have ceded this point to them. Why?
100
The Ludroth @ludroth.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Thats whats kinda irked me lately, the dems cede so much of our foreign policy to the Republicans. They never make a positive case for programs like USAID. You even see this with the Iran war. A lot of the criticism of it focuses on the incompetence, not the underlying motives behind the war.

FDR warning us about clowns kinda goes hard actually.
010
The Ludroth @ludroth.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
And then we went in and proved the regime who did that right.
000
The Ludroth @ludroth.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
But in all seriousness this somewhat plays to my point, the underlying thinking and influences that led to this war were, and in many cases still is, very much present in the Democrat party as well.
010
The Ludroth @ludroth.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Ah so your objection to the war is that it was poorly executed, nit that we just attacked another nation for dubious reasons. Glad to see the spirit of '03 is still alive and kicking. Youll find those WMDs one day sport!

The Ludroth @ludroth.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Okay but that would be good, you should be treated badly by the press for starting a war.
