Goodbye winter Hello summer Beltane dawn in Whitstable

Sunrise on the coast. Silhouette figures of Morris dancers and a jack in the green

Just in time for Artemis II my moon (and some clouds) are on show as part of Spring Tide, an exhibition curated by The Horsebridge Whitstable. Open until the 20th April, it's a really calm, soothing curation, like standing here on the shore. @thehorsebridge.bsky.social

Photograph of an art exhibition, 3 small sculptures are on plinths in the foreground, they are assemblages of things found on the shoreline, made by artist Sharon Cavalier. In the background are ink drawings of clouds and the full moon

here's one from the archive for all perfectionists out there, don't overthink it friends, good enough might turn out to actually be perfect #goodenough #letterpress #perfectionistinrecovery

letterpress print, black ink on white paper, photographed on a wooden table. Print reads 'good enough' but the print is poor with uneven ink across the letters, despite this the words read clearly and it really is good enough.

Such a bright moon last night casting strange new shadows & overpowering the usual street light. Work in progress of a drawing made last summer, ink and graphite, no tricks, no ai, just using hand and eye to lovingly enjoying and celebrate our best satellite #graphite #wip #drawing #moon

Drawing of a full moon using graphite with black ink loosely brushed around the outside. The graphite stick is on the paper to give scale and show it's a real drawing

more chipped china - Chipped White Cup It used to be my mum's, laced with little cracks, then the cat knocked it over and broke the handle. From a series about not waiting for the best day to use the best things. Graphite drawing on cartridge paper #handdrawn #chippedchina #don'tsavebestforbest

Loose drawing of an intricately designed white china cup. Patterns on the outside are of plants or lattice, each inside a rectangular panel. Some of the rim is chipped and cracks snake down the inside.

This table holds so many stories, some known, others imagined. My parents rescued it from a bonfire to become the centre of our family life for the next fiftyish years and counting. Taking this image from its surface felt like an act of gratitude. #kitchentable #drawing #timelapse #surface

What did you do to your head? Mirror ball fell on it. I've always been more disco than rock and roll #riskassessment

Close up of a disco ball where the squares of mirror show small reflections of little details of the space and a person below. One square is reflecting an open eye, but this isn't immediately obvious.

I wasn't sure if my internal radio rage had become manifest as I listened to Stewart Lee rebuking Matthew Parris. Anyway turns out it hadn't and I transcribed this bit to make sure. Great Lives: Derek Bailey If you can't bear MP try from 23min to 25m 15s www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Black text on yellow background reads:

MP

Stewart, I’ve got to be honest,, if you’d told me that they'd given a chimpanzee a guitar and this is what he does…….

SL

Oh but Matthew that is such a idiotic thing to say, really. A chimpanzee doesn't even have the fingernails to play to make that sound right. You're better than that, right, you know - you really are, and you can't give a programme like this over to an artist like that and then throw that kind of stuff at them, not with the reading you've done and the interviews you’ve heard with him. You're on the BBC right, you've got to meet the challenge of a culture that is failing artists and failing the public in terms of exposing them to good stuff and you mustn't put that idea out there: you have to double back on it and the duty of a broadcaster is to support stuff not to undermine it. I'm sorry about that.

MP No, well, this duty of a broadcaster, duty of a broadcaster doesn't sound like Derek to me at all he had no Duty as a musician and I have I have no Duty except to express my own responses sometimes and that was my response it's an honest response yeah

SL

What, you wouldn’t be surprised if a chimpanzee was playing that

MP

I didn't see any sort of form to it, any sort of idea

SL

Well, I don't know how you can have gone through the research for this program and listen to the stuff and honestly I don't know where we… I don't know where we start with trying to communicate good stuff to people, I don't know where we start.

I mean a chimpanzee, also it's such a cliche idea to say a chimpanzee at least saying octopus or a wasp or something, for christs sake.
