Come data centres rain on Slough, it isn’t fit for humans now. Read my article about the grim realities of living near data centres, and the unlikely coalitions forming up and down the country that are fighting back. www.thenewworld.co.uk/lucy-reade-e...

Everyone hates data centres – and I don’t blame them
Data centres are huge, noisy, polluting, provide no local jobs, look horrible and are being built in residential areas. A backlash is brewing – a big one

Right-wing movements have always had a fantasy of a particular kind of woman who will be exalted: the respectable, patriotic, knows-her-place woman. There is a promise that if you stand with them, you will be one of the women they protect. But you won’t.

This summer’s bestselling book is basically a rushed half-idea wearing a trench coat that assumes its readers are idiots. There's a lot of interesting stuff to say about tradwives... too bad Yesteryear is basically the Barbie movie of books. www.thenewworld.co.uk/lucy-reade-y...

Yesteryear is the smash-hit book of the summer - and it’s abysmal
Caro Claire Burke’s badly written best-seller is the worst novel I’ve ever devoured

"The tragedy of Clacton isn’t that it lacks young people with ambition, compassion, or ideas... By insisting on being an absentee MP, Farage is robbing the young people of Clacton of the chance to have a representative who might actually fight for them." Read my piece in the latest issue of TNW!

Also note that shortly after wrapping up the recording of this episode (which ends on the topic of child abuse and public hanging), James said quietly "...maybe we should have swapped the segment order".
