We had to say goodbye to Joseph today. He was such a good-natured sweetheart despite his lifelong battle with chronic respiratory problems, always the first to go out exploring and never held a grudge when we had to give him all sorts of medication. We already miss him so much. #ratsofbluesky #rats

After two attempts at completely different paintings, this is what ended up sticking. Painting can be so debilitatingly frustrating one moment, and so rewarding the next... Self as Goat Person. 8x10in charcoal and sanguine on paper. I wasn't expecting this piece to end up the way it did, kinda fun. (Available, dm if interested) . #art #drawing #charcoaldrawing #traditionalart #portrait

A frontal view self portrait, the face partially in shadow, staring out at the viewer with wide eyes. One of the eyes has a horizontal pupil, similar to a goat's eye. The background is dark and nondescript, with subtle accents of dark red throughout the piece.

First painting in my current series. Watching From the Shadows (2024), 24x30in oil on canvas. . #art #oilpainting #traditionalart #drawing #portrait #contemporarypainting

A grayish, periwinkle portrait, partially obscured by abstract shadow shapes cutting across the face. The eyes are blurred and the visible ear is decorated with crisply painted jewelry.

This continues to be one of my favorite paintings I've ever done, it kind of torments me... "Weighted" (2020) 36x48in oil on canvas . #oilpainting #traditionalmedia #painting #art #traditionalart #figurativeart #portrait

Two figures recline, one embracing the other as they melt in and out an abstract.background. The entire image is bathed in green light, with painterly variations in value, tone, and texture.

An alien/demon with large black horns stands in waist-deep black mist, their arms wrapped around themself as if they were cold. They look back at the viewer with narrowed eyes.
