My haul of books I preordered that arrived last month. Meanwhile I have still have a bunch of Kel McDonald's comics I got from their last Kickstarter to sort onto my bookshelf in a box off screen and a voice in my head saying to stop buying so many books until I've read all the ones I own. (ó﹏ò｡)

A copy of The Long-Lived King, The Art of Gravity Falls and Banned Book Club.

Oh!! I got the next panel with my copy of Banned Book Club. I pre-ordered after I saw the @ironcircuscomics.bsky.social post promoting it. With current events being what they are I felt like Banned Book Club could sit alongside my volumes of John Lewis/Andrew Aydin/Nate Powell's March.

Hand inked comic panel from the graphic novel No Rules Tonight credited to Kim Hyun Sook and Ryan Estrada. Is the 4th panel in the page Ryan posted in the quote of another post from Sleestak showing the panel they recieved with their copy of Banned Book Club Special Edition.

Tomodachi Life allows for me to bring any item I want from real life into the game so I added @eyepatchwolf.bsky.social 's official @wooliewoolz.bsky.social plushie stand.

Got my fit together for seeing TADC this weekend with my older brother.

Selfie of Lucky Dagger irl with their face drawn over with a cartoon smiley face with glasses. They are wearing a pink T-shirt with a picture of Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus and text that says "I can make her worse." Dagger is also wearing a hat like the one worn by Frankie in Knights of Guinevere.

Drew Kit from @rubberross.bsky.social 's #Gameoverse I used a mix of Ohuhu markers with one of my older prismacolor ones. The colors are a bit off but I only got so many shades of brown. 😅

Kit, the cat girl lead in the animated show Gameoverse, holds her hand up in a peace sign. The drawing is hand drawn with marker.

Just decided to crack open a book my mom recommended and got hit with a phrase that always gets me interested in media. Damn we got a missing person who's last message was "Trust No One"? Guess I get two nickels now.

Cropped picture of a blurb describing the plot of No Rest For The Wicked by Rachel Louise Adams. Highlighted relevant section of the text is that the main character's father warned her to "Trust no one" before he mysteriously disappeared.

Picture taken of a page ftom Journal 3 in Gravity Falls where "Trust No One!" Is written in all caps and underlined.

Some people don't even know a post-apocalyptic civ building game when they see on. Pokopia also doesn't have Pokémon eggs so it's definitely not a daycare.

Drew this Pikachu a while ago and decided to clean it up a lil. No shading but eh, that takes some work I don't feel like doing for a silly doodle.

Here's my favorite placeholder sprite from Pokémon. 1. Clearly depicts a creature for the early builds. 2. Made without a ton of resources to let the beta tests commence without waiting on the final product. 3. Obviously not the final product and can be identified for replacement quickly.

Placeholder sprite art for Arceus from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl's beta build. It's a goldish brown blobby form shaped vaguely like a giraffe with spindly legs and spikes as a mane on the back of It's head. There are two basic red-orange circles on the head likely representing eyes.

My favorite thing about placeholder assets in games is how goofy they can look. I mean look at this Arceus placeholder sprite from early builds of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl! It's such a creature! I love them so much.

Official art of Arceus from the 4th generation of Pokémon games.
It is a white and gold somewhat equine creature with a spiked gold ring around it's waist. It's head has two pointed "ears" and a long "mane" with a white top and dark gray underside that tapers to a point. Arceus's neck has some spikes poking out on each side. The legs end with spindley pointed feet that are gold tipped. The tail of Arceus is similar to it's mane.

Reminder that placeholder designs can be simple and sometimes that simplicity suites the game you are making better. Kirby was born from a placeholder design during development for a game that was later named Kirby's Dreamland. Kirby was born before generative AI. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirby_(...

A screen shot from the Kirby Wikipedia page about the origin of Kirby's design. A hoghlighted section says:
"The character's design was intended to serve as a placeholder graphic for the game's origina protagonist in early development and thus was given a simplistic ball-like appearance Sakurai switched to the placeholder design after deciding that it served the character better."

The more traditional layout maps in Sword and Shield are gorgeous and show an attention to detail the wild area just didn't have.

I make alt text for screenshots all the time. It's actually the easier of images to make alt text for because of copy paste and text detection software.

??? Most phone keyboards let you hold over letters and symbols to pick more options. If anything people using PC would have more trouble if they didn't memorize how to use symbols outsode the basic keyboard.

What pisses me off most is the people who are trying to justify anger at actors with "it was a wildcat strike" and I'm like, "okay and this is relevant how?" The answer is always about how it's illegal as if that has any bearing on the morality of striking.

The "Don't make me tap the sign" meme from the Simpsons. The bus driver taps a sign edited to say "Morality & legality are not synonyms, equivocating the two is anti-union propaganda"

Also it was a survey not clinical study. On top of that 127 cats is a ridiculously small sample size compared to the rest of the cats included.

Screenshot from the article linked further up in thread that reads:
"a single cat fed a meat-based (1,242-91%) or vegan (127-9%) diet for at least a year."
In reference to the sample size of cats in the study.

The kitten on this package is so badly drawn I almost wonder if it's AI or some really cheap graphic design commission by Greenies. The adult cat above the logo is beautifully illustrated but the kitten looks like the fancy rendering was erased and a cartoonish kitten face was drawn in with marker.

God forbid I take someone asking for a clear definition of Zionism in good faith. It's no surprise this POS wasn't on bsky when it was invite only (I checked their twexit data and the literally signed up in Feb 2024 when bsky ended invite only accounts). This is behavior I expect from Twitter.

A reply to Lucky Dagger in a discussion about the Israeli Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine.
The username is blurred out but the reply is as follows:
"You didn't answer my question. The correct answer is "Belief in the Jewish right to self determination in their ancestral homeland."

That's it. That's all there is to it. and if you're not Jewish, then you don't EVER get to define what Zionism is. Don't be like fucking Stalin."
