I actually did know those scanners would be sending me into a panic, but they did. I think the last time I had to go through on of those, it was to visit someone in prison. I all but forgot about it, but once I stood in front of those things, it all came back.

Finally boarded the train to UK! I am gonna be so real with you: all this standing in lines, the check, the scans - it was so unnerving! I don't know why we had to scan our passport at two different gates, but whatever! By far the most stressful part was the luggage control...

I also found a store that had my favourite perfume and an apothecary that had my favourite deodorant! I ran out of both without noticing and was lowkey sad I had to do with whatever else was still at home. They were more expensive than at home, BUT I WILL SMELL SO NICE!

I am very glad I planned so much time in for the turnover at Bruxelle Midi - the station is so big! I am less overwhelmed than I thought I would be - it's actually kinda fun! I checked out the gate I have to go in an hour and now am gonna find something to eat. I am starving!

Also, fun fact: We are currently in the city where a tiny games store used to be. I would come to this shop every weekend to play Cardfight Vanguard with friends and the local TCG players. It was a one hour train ride per direction, but so worth it. I love that store.

Soooo, we are reaching the last station in Germany before crossing the border and suddenly I am super nervous again. I haven’t left the country in pretty much 10 years. And I never crossed a boarder in a train before. I mean, it will be alright of course but Ahhhh!!!!

For those who are wondering: I am taking the train to the UK. I dislike flying and I especially would never board a train alone, so I decided to pick a familiar way of transportation, even if it is very LONG! At this point the train is already half way to Bruxelle!
