![A set of tweets by Steven Hassan and commentators replying to him. His original chain of tweets is responding to a tweet by JK Rowling which reads as follows: "PPS I've just realised the link to the Charlie Evans piece on detransitioners isn't working. Here it is: [Link To Medium Article]".
In response, Steven Hassan made a 4 post length chain, which when compiled together reads: "As a mental health professional and someone who has researched undue influence, I have interviewed 12 detransitioners M-F-M and F-M-F who have read my work on cults and mind control. Several told me they watched trans "hypno porn". They gave me links to watch what they watched. I am trained by the top international experts in clinical hypnosis AND I have also studied hypnosis used by cult leaders for 4 decades. What I watched was weaponised mind control. And why would trans advocates treat detransitioned people like they are traitorsm just like Moonies treat ex-Moonies like myself? Cult playbook. Am i speaking against adults who choose to transition as adults after appropriate therapy and guidance? No I am not! But too many young people are getting recruited. Not sure? Do research. Talk to detranstioners and mental health professionals who have vast experience. Please study my Influence Continuum and BITE model. Also conversion "therapy" is destructive mind control and does not work either"
A separate redacted twitter account replies: "Isn't hypno porn a fictionalised dramatisation of the fetish of mind control? Or are you saying that there are porn videos designed to hypnotise people?"
Hassan replies: "I am saying that when I watched some of these, my finger was on the pause every few seconds or so- I know myself and when I watched cult leader videos or listen to audios, I need to stay "meta" and not get sucked in."
Another redacted commenter replied: "So you were watching porn and it scared you it turned you on?"](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:5om2ox3teqptvcm2bogqqvna/bafkreifd2ltgzxl6y5zcc6pmee6rnekpqjuqkhssechzvqt4ka4yp55ezm)
