I figured as much but backblaze does the same and I can't imagine Google is cutting 75% discounts mind you, I say this with no professional knowledge on the matter. but still it feels like it's gotta be a big money saver for them to make the move.

like I can see how b2 is economical for discord. but how the hell was gcloud? and that's just the lowest cost region. I'm not a shill for backblaze but literally anyone but AWS gcloud and so on is so much much much more cheaper lol I hope they make a devblog on the subject.

010

Lucas7yoshi in the .com bubble @lucas7yoshi.com · 15h

somehow this is actually attracting more people who care than I would've expected as mentioned, gcloud is like $20 a TB a month, b2 is $6.95. And b2 has 3x storage free retrieval and no transactions, and b2 overage is 0.01$/GB compared to I think 20¢ for gcloud?

I've used cloudflare r2 and now more-so b2 and when I compare to the big boys (AWS, gcloud, etc) I just question how it is economical for stuff like discord I suppose there must be a limit given they seem to be moving now, id love to read a devblog about it 🤞

Lucas7yoshi in the .com bubble @lucas7yoshi.com · 15h

what I'm seeing is that it wildly favors backblaze. they give 3x your monthly average storage egress for free and over that is 1¢ per GB

and there aint nobody talking about it because, frankly, the number of people who care probably can be measured on one hand, but it is interesting to me okay?! it only seems to have popped up within the last 24 hours too

discord is rolling out 1GB file uploads for nitro users, and just so happens that image attachment urls are now having ?backend=b2 interesting change so long into discords live, i believe they were using google cloud before which is like, $20/TB/Month whereas Backblaze's is $6.95/TB/Month

Okay so, managed to subtract the music from the extended look. It wasn't quite basic subtraction it was a bit quirky and required some (ai assisted) code fiddling, but full version incoming soon Creates for some amusingly low-energy clips though

watch a video of an artist they must not like, but then going into the comments, scrolling until they find someone referring to their gender, and then going "man*". There is no part of those 3 levels of effort that aren't pathetic. go watch something you actually enjoy tf

I'm not going to post about the 2014/15 GTA6 map, but I cannot resist posting about how early-alpha GTA 5 Chop was... a car I guess before they had animal AI they just made him an rcbandito sized car this is a real Rockstar asset (it has textures but they wouldn't render sadly)

i wanna make one of these labelers myself but the documentation on making your own labeler is very all over the place and confusing... and the stuff that looks promising is like ancient.. but maybe that's okay because it's just simple and mature? IDK, compared to other atproto stuff it's daunting

also the aforementioned encryption is just in it's assembly-csharp.dll so it was trivial to reverse with dnSpyEx good game anyway but very odd choice lol I'm just grateful it's not il2cpp'd just to be annoying
