DMs can be excluded when using app passwords. Everything else is already public. But there is still the risk of follow/unfollow/post and so on. Still: Never use DMs on social media platforms for sensitive stuff.

Maybe some day. Because you were the first one to ask, I created a visualization of your network. I will dm you the file as well, so you can play around with it. Either install Gephi or explore it in the browser with gephi.org/gephi-lite/. I recommend to turn off edges to make it faster.

Visualizing my bsky network. I follow 1 k accounts, who are connected through 65 k follows between each other. Slightly more follows in the German sphere. A German right wing research cluster, a small Austrian cluster and a tiny neurodivergent/disability cluster.
Network visualization with five labels. Circles in different colors with account names on top of them and arrows between them. The circles are clustered together. A red cluster at the top with the label English. A blue cluster at the bottom right labeled German and Austria. Austria is written smaller. Attached to them a pink cluster named Disability. On the left bottom is a bigger "Studying right wing" cluster in green.

I like the mastodon approach, where you can get verified by multiple URLs and they show up in your profile as verified. "Yes, I really work there, but it's not my whole identity." The verification can be easily verified by following the link, confirm that it's authentic and still exists.

It fills me with happiness seeing how many people use TweetXer to let go. I will always be nostalgic about what Twitter was. But Twitter is dead and it's good to move on.
About forty photos put together on one canvas. All of them showing people using tweetxer. Some photos of screens, one with a hand showing the middle finger to the screen. The screenshots show that people delete from a few hundred to several hundred thousands of Tweets at once.

I tried to find the cause for Chrome to crash after TweetXer deleted 15 k Tweets. I was unable to reproduce it on Ubuntu and a Windows VM. But it may have to do with the console. An open console seems to influence garbage collection. Closing it speeds up the script and reduces memory usage.
Windows VM with two open Chrome tabs and task explorer showing over 1 GB of RAM usage. Each tab has a tweetXer bar showing 100 k deleted Tweets but no Twitter in the background. Console in the left tab says 100 k test 24 seconds. Right one 100 k Test 23 seconds.Same two tabs, but with closed browser console. Task manager shows close to 700 MB RAM usage.Same two tabs reopened browser console, RAM usage at around 200 MB.

You can open your tweet-headers.js with a text editor and remove the IDs of the Tweets you want to keep. They are sorted chronologically. It's only important to keep the structure. Chart goes on the y-axis from 0 to 250 posts per hour. Each platform has a line. Bluesky in light blue, Fediverse in dark blue and X/Twitter in black. X-axis are the hours, but only days are labels. From 2023-12-23 to 2023-12-31.

There are clearly more Fediverse posts at any given time. On 2023-12-28 Fediverse posts per hour sharply increase from around 20 to around 70. On the next day the shoot up to over 200 posts per hour. Over the next days there are between 100 and 175 posts per hour during the day.

X/Twitter posts only go over 75 posts per hour once on 2023-12-29.

Bluesky posts stay below 25 posts per hour with a single exception on 2023-12-31.

A woman leans over the shoulder of a man and looks at him. The man sits on a wooden bench and laughs in her direction. She holds a bridal bouquet, he has the matching mini bouquet in his jacket pocket.

T2/pebble shows who invited you on your profile. While my curiosity likes that, I know that it's a problem for people who get harassed or value their privacy. Anyway, do you want to become a livelong ad for my account? I will share some invites in the replies.

The reason for the weird wording comes from the inspiration material of the post. web.archive.org/web/20231023... It hints at the exploitation of labour as the source of the billionaires money. jacobin.com/2022/06/karl...

Yesterday, #AoiR2023, the yearly conference of the Association of Internet Researchers, ended. I collected data on which platforms people posted about it. In the first version, I missed several Bluesky posts because of how incomplete the search results are. I had to create a custom feed and use

Yes. It has to be public. Else Bluesky would not be able to verify it. It's DNS, so you can look it up for any domain. You can get the DID from the Bluesky API as well.

Korrekt. With Friends" nutzt: bsky.app/profile/did:...

Currently TweetXer exports the JSON without altering the entries. Expanded URLs are included. I want to add something that people can use directly. (I probably should switch from gist to a repo). gist.github.com/lucahammer/a...

(Ugh, wait, nevermind, I hit 3k while I wasn't looking. Anyway.) Someone who has never had more than 100 followers liters cannot comprehend the sheer volume of the responses you get. Even if individual posts don't get a ton of replies, if you post with any frequency, it accumulates.
