There's a long known meme/joke about Americans unable to find countries on a World map. But like many stereotypes, there's an uncomfortable core truth to it.

That fact alone was enough to set the stage. It created a durable culture of fanaticism. But you can add to that the sociological situation in the US, with a strong economic inequality that creates a strong educational inequality. The American "populace" is exceptionally ignorant.

I think the causes are multiple and fetch deep in history. There are cultural origins to this madness, going out far back as the reasons why the English colonies in the area of the U.S. were founded the first place: for religious and ideological reasons.

This is quite a shortcut. The Roman republic died because it was a twisted, dysfunctional republic in the first place all rigged in favour of the senatorial class. Populist generals ended up taking power because the Senate was too stubborn to let go of their "iron privileges" the slightest bit.

My impression when I saw that pic the first time was that this is related to the thing about Natalie. The tension between these two is now through the roof, and the second they think cameras are no longer watching, it surfaces immediately. The anger visible here is between each other.

And that's including stubbornness, hypocrisy, independence of mind, etc. AI in it's current form needs to be strictly limited in its capacity. My personal opinion, chatboxes are okay but agents should be banned.

Zelenskyy did a fuck up on this one. Of course transferring North Korean prisoners to the South Korean state was a highly sensitive matter that should have been kept secret. People need to realize the intensity of the tension between the two Koreas, and the potential consequences.
