I also want AI to work for people and to be open and to be ethical, and not to be an unethical flop like NFTs. The technology is very promising and exciting like fireworks, as in it could injure or kill you, but when handled carefully, it produces beautiful effects.

But yeah, I use private servers like duck.ai, but I took my mac mini to do AI text roleplay and it's good. As an added bonus, it's kept on the local network so no one can steal the data and make public AI inbred.

It's a tough balance sometimes. I am incredibly anti-ai arts (art/music/flyers). That being said, I still do occasionally use it for tech support, code templates, and and reading crash files, or identifying large sets of data.

I'm chill with AI local open models (Llama) so yes, AI technology should be open and cheap as possible, to avoid 8 (yes, eight [looking at you adobe]) companies controlling it all and imposing their own anti-human vision of the world on us
