Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 4hWrapped up the Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter remake, great remake very well done, still one of the best rpgs made out there. 030
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 13/10/2026Beat Isle of Reveries today, very good classic zelda style game, easy recommend for those who enjoy that type of thing store.steampowered.com/app/3100970/...store.steampowered.comIsle of Reveries on SteamMake a pilgrimage skybound to the Isle of Reveries, where any wish can be granted. Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 13/10/2026I'll start worrying about being "out of touch" with AAA games when they start making some good ones. Heck even one 1/10th as good as Denshattack was this year. 020
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 07/10/2026"Oh but I hate skill based matchmaking, its too sweaty and isnt fun!", yeah exactly doing that with ML in a single player game also seems like itd be pretty miserable 010
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I feel like over the years I've seen so many iterations of the like "what if the game automatically adjusted to your gameplay and responded dynamically" take w/ games, now being speculated with ML, and like your just describing skill-based matchmaking against real people, play a pvp game people 100
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Was reading a manga recently that decided to do the comic book thing of bolding arbitrary words in the sentence and man very few things make something immediately unreadable to me. 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Other counters to make: How long before doing proper paperwork is brought up a plot point, and how long before we get into some weird fantasy slavery shit. 001
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 20/09/2026I've been on a light novel kick, which of course means I have read a handful of isekais recently, and I need to start a page counter for how long it takes before somewhere in the book we hit a passage about the japanese peoples special disposition for peace. 100
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 20/09/2026I've seen a few in my discords but yeah its people who are already bought into VR and have the money. 011
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Also I am only 2 chapters in so far, but the Sky 2nd remake is very good. Creepy Sheep sidequest monster done perfectly. 010
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Saw a ranking of the Trails games somewhere and felt the compulsive internet nerd instinct to post my own: Sky 2 > Azure > Sky 1 > Zero > Daybreak > Steel 3 > Sky 3 > Reverie > Steel 1 > Horizons > Steel 2 >> Daybreak 2 > Cold Steel 4 010
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Whoops meant wont attempt the third degree clears for a bit. Theres deffo room for some improvement. Some balancing on the third degree on certain boards maybe. Main thing might be to improve feedback + retrying fights for learning. Takes experimenting to figure stuff out. 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I'm finding BST and the Crucible stuff in FFXIV quite fun. I probably wont attempt the master board clears for a bit, but did get legendary on every board, and there's a lot of different ways to approach it and think about the fights in a way that is not the usual-form of ffxiv. 100
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 08/09/2026What % of new content added to ffxiv translates to "grind ARR Fates for a long time"? Surely it must be > 50% (yes im salty they closed to leveling loop hole for bst) 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Heres my hot OOT Take: the last time I played OOT was a multiplayer randomizer and it was super fun and I encourage people to check out replaying those games via randomizers and/or archipelago for a great time. 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Every group of game nerds has that one person who played Terranigma and wont shut up about it, and its me, I'm that person. Play Terranigma when you can, it rules. 010

Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Playing the Trails Second Chapter Demo, its great and reminding me how absolutely goated that games sound track is. The series has bangers later on, but nothing quite as jazzy/upbeat as sky is. 120
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 18/08/2026I don't know if its stranger for them to go back and change these after so long (not mad at it) or that I remember noticing most of these differences lol store.steampowered.com/news/app/337...store.steampowered.comTrails in the Sky 1st Chapter - Version 1.07: Legacy Patch - Steam NewsThank you for your continuous support for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Where does the bit end and the bit begin? We can never know. 030
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Look I haven't read it so I can't comment on the book itself, but there's something that triggers annoyance in my brain every time I have to hear someone who slagged off isekais/light novel litrpgs/dungeon fantasies for like a decade be like Man This Dungeon Crawler Carl Book Is Amazing. 010
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Every archipelago run I've done with vinco ends and then I spam the channel with graphs and math about the run lol. Its too nerdy, but man graphs can be fun. 010
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 01/08/2026oof that sucks. Ive been playing through that game on and off for a year w/ a friend, and when its fully firing its very fun, but I feel like its also just full of things that feel like they come from the lineage of f2p design that I wish were not that way. that sort of blocking feels that way 100
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 01/08/2026I will admit, I did not read that entire article (yet) about dark souls 2, but know if you are a defender of dark souls 2, I will be there with you regardless of why. 010

Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 26/07/2026Is FFXIV the most successful game with an isekai plot? 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 25/07/2026The FFXIV BST stuff looks cool and involved. Seems they learned lessons from BLU (the perfect job) and Masked Carnival and have more of a focus on this new Roguelike thing they are doing. 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 25/07/2026So both raids in the next XIV expansion are crossovers for things I do not like, rough. 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 21/07/2026Got all the cheevos in Denshattack, been a long while since an arcadey type game got me to do that, high recommendation, incredible game. 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 20/07/2026I found that just ignoring the score medal and going back for those to be a good strat. You unlock a lot of mechanics over the course of the game and different trains that make the score stuff a lot easier (i still did dares/time, but theres also trains for some of the dares too lol) 020
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 20/07/2026The boss of World 7 in denshattack is so fucking cool, god damn been a while since a game has managed to be surprising at every turn lol 010
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Every time a new mechanic is introduced in Denshattack it feels like too much, and then like 2 levels later your flowing through it so good. That game feels so good. 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 17/07/2026I fell down a rabbit hole and learning about UV printers is the most powerful "there is absolutely no way I could justify ever having one of these but man it sounds cool" things I've seen in a while lol 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 15/07/2026I rewatched standalone recently and that at least was worth it 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Count The Rice is an all time game changer episode, and I'm going to have the song stuck in my head all week. 050
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 07/07/2026Weve been doing these runs asynchronously, so large initial check pools havent been as big of an issue, since theres no expectation of taking a quick time to do it, but yeah definitely more options for restrictions is nice. 110
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 07/07/2026Did another Archipelago setup over the weekend. The CrossCode AP World works very well for that. Lot of fun options to gate the progression more while opening it up to make more of an open exploration. 110
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 03/07/2026For those with no context, its a yuri series about two girls who both are into like 90s rock music 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 03/07/2026"The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy At All" getting an Anime Adaptation with like an announcement w/ Dave Grohl and a Nirvana Song for its main theme is pretty great lol 120
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 02/07/2026Ah the perfect cure to a very stressful day is to learn that the person who made the vibe coded stalker plugin for ffxiv got bullied so hard they deleted it all. 020
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 25/06/2026The FFXIV discord im in ran a big asynchronous archipelago event (a multiplayer randomizer based thing) with ~21 people and it was super fun. It's amazing to me the way people come up with to make games work in ways they were never intended to. Took us about ~6 days to clear. 020
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 22/06/2026yeah IDK I think its also that everything is getting more expensive. Building your own version of the thing apparently is only ~$70 cheaper according to GN, and its about ~$100 more expensive than a PS5 Pro. Think we're just entering the era of gaming being fucked. 010
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 09/06/2026I feel like Nintendo has been going in that direction for a while. Even BoTW/ToTK (while I love BoTW) was sort of the start of them fitting into the AAA mold. The last decade feel like they have been regressing to the mean. 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 31/05/2026Beat Mina The Hollower. Very fun game, addicting to play enough that I burned through it. To create a false binary, the Zelda exploration side of it is very fun (though sometimes annoying with the way potions work), the combat/boss/souls side of it I didnt love. 010
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 27/05/2026I was probably a bit more negative on it after having just played the Alabaster Dawn early access and having the comparison lol 000
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 27/05/2026I played through the adventures of elliot demo and it seems fine, balked at the $60 price tag tho. It's clearly targeting a young audience so its very much on the easy side for an adult, but the exploration is fun. I do wish we were over the HD2D stuff, its such a drab art style. 100
Ian Kelly @ltsquigs.bsky.social · 18/05/2026I think the most visceral angry reaction ive gotten to an Anime Take is when making an argument that Frieren has a lot of overlap with the OP Protagonist Isekai formula, minus the actual isekai part. 000
