I stopped by @backwaterbooks.bsky.social in OEC today to pick up the book selections for the first ever Howard County ADULT Battle of the Books! I can't wait to get started! (I've already read 2 of the 6 books, but definitely plan to re-read and take notes as I prep for the "battle" in October!)

Wooden table in front of a dark green painted brick wall, with a display of six different books, and a square flyer on the front of the table that reads "Why should the kids have all the fun? Coming soon...Battle of the Books: Adult Version. Prepare to Battle." The flyer also includes an image of several hands of various skin tones reaching toward a large red button.

Six books arranged on a wooden table in two rows. Top row: The Splendid and the Vile, by Erik Larson; The Art Thief, by Michael Finkel; All Systems Red, by Martha Wells.
Bottom row: Dark Maestro, by Brendan Slocumb; Margo's Got Money Troubles, by Rufi Thorpe; The Mountains Sing, by Nguyen Phan Que Mai.

It's been a bit of a $#@! week, but one bright spot is that this beauty arrived in the mail yesterday!

Black tote bag with white lettering that says "You are not well-read if all you read are books by white authors." Below that, in smaller print is the name of the business that made the bag, "books& brown sugar co."

I did a bit of a refresh on the Little Crabby Library today, including adding two of my favorite books of 2024 and refilling the dog treats! I'd imagine these two books will go fast, so stop by soon if you want one! #littlefreelibrary #littlefreelibrariesofbluesky #booksky #read

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of taking this cutie, "Peacoat," on a Dog's Day Out from BARCS in Baltimore - so of course we had to check out a couple of #littlefreelibraries! Not only is Peacoat a book lover, he has the sweetest personality - and he's available for adoption! Contact BARCS 4 info.

Hello, Bluesky! So happy to be here! I opened my #littlefreelibrary to share my love of #reading with my community! My #LFL has a mix of children's books, YA titles, and adult selections, and often features #bannedbooks.
