#HalloweenDanceParty Day 15 queen There no shortage of royal titles among the Legionnaires from chemical to comet. Prominent super villains too. But there is only one that's the real deal. Queen Projectra.

There's nothing wrong with the assignment. I'm just saying they handled it poorly. Diversity Hires are excellent. It's the type of disconnect the legion gets for not being part of DC continuity proper. Saturn Girl has accomplished far more than Wonder Woman. Founder. leader, breadwinner, mother.

The writers aren't really to blame. There has been considerable effort to un whitewash the legion. Gear, Dragon-mage/wing, Catspaw, Harmonia,Tellus. But due to seniority these members are the first to go every reboot and we're back to the legion of super crackers. Pasty white, square and a bit bland

I just think we're stuck stuck with a team of white earther types mostly male. I don't think it's fair to the past to just suddenly make them another race or alien. But all legion girl friends become members by default. So have a mixer w/ alien chicks. Instant organic diversity.

It's a credit to the artist to make the least appealing legion (to me anyway) look so attractive. It alway felt like the group assignment was make the legion diverse and the team waited till the day before deadline pulled an all nighter and handed in a first draft. Uninspired. I wasn't even whelmed.

I'm guessing the Watcher. Libra. Madame Web. Red Skull. the Sphinx. I think I got 1 right.

#HalloweenDanceParty Day 14 Body Horror I find Pa Kent's response disturbing. In a few years , if Lori had said yes. He'd have had one of those awful things as a daughter in law.

I wonder if they'd have been successful as teen titans. Of course the groups have blended but if they'd skipped this phase. I think of the titans as sidekicks. YJ as the next generation.

I keep telling people the space needle and it's ilk are just sleeper ships waiting for the signal. And the big city ferris wheel are war wheels with detatchible drones. our major cities are already done for.

Flying Creature Detective Comics #402: Man Bat never looked better as Neal Adams brought us this ghastly vision. A empathic shift in Batman as he does not seek to stop the nightflyer but to cure the man within. Plus the anagrammatic inversion makes this a rousing rivalry! #OctoberCoverChallenge

I recently meet a girl named Mina. I said "like from Dracula." She said most people can't remember where they've heard or seen the name. She'd be less impressed by "like from League of extraordinary gentlemen." It's the same Mina Harker but best to stick to the classics.

I had to reinvent the image of a PNW native american totem pole because an image agency owned all the decent pictures crowding out anything free. I created a replica of a photo. Authenticity cost money. But it feel like its the indigenous people I'm cheating and not, A Largely Awful Media Yawn
