Sled dog camp last weekend (9 days ago) was an overwhelming success. On a scale of 1-to-“stunning fall views and puppy slobber in my coffee”, it received full marks.

Been dealing with some health issues this month, that I think (hope!) are now in the rear view mirror. The dogs have been great nursemaids through some down days, and we’ve managed to sneak out to our local spot enough to stay sane. [Finally!] off on a lil’ adventure soon this weekend—sled dog camp!

Our Labor Day weekend looked like a whole lotta this, as I was out for 36 hours with food poisoning. Thankfully our only planned adventure was small, local, and easily re-scheduled. Much love and appreciation to both dogs for bearing with me through an incredibly “boring” weekend 🤍

Last month, I was one of three humans at my backcountry site the night I camped, and the other two were both USFS employees. Still heaven out there, if you get far enough off the main routes! 🤍

Still no dogs allowed on trails. It makes perfect sense in a setting like that! My family’s (dad’s) dog was just with us along the roadway areas

Yes Glacier was very strict for dog rules—she was not allowed on trails and was on leash 100% in the parking lots and near crowded areas. Se only got off leash when playing fetch IN the lakes at random lay-bys along the road (away from other people). Best to be cautious when in THEIR home!!
